okay for those who are really into the extreme and obscure death and black metal from the late 80's and early 90's as i am, they would know about phantasm.
so many bands have concentrated on speed and technical riffs in making death metal. but phantasm made up their own formula of music which proved to be extremely scary, brutal stuff. i mean i ain't screamish or anything but their audio demonstration will make you sh@# your pants-sonically speaking.
i've known of them from their first offering, "lycanthropy" and i do know that their second demo, "the abominable" was more of what they were trying to accomplish from lycanthropy.
the group (along with other greats) have gone into obscurity so I suggest you get their work and relate this to the other few who might be worthy.

it's too bad they don't have an audio sample section here so you guys can know what i'm talking about.

I do remember this band when it was around, I think they were from the Mid-West (Milwaukee or something like that.)
Yeah, they were a great band, very different, not as technical as the other bands that were around in those days.
It is too bad that there isn't an audio section to offer snippets so you guys can judge for yourself.
