Gr. 3-5. These entries in the Unsolved Mysteries series tackle X-Files material, adding real history and context. Yeti is less engaging, with awkward writing and few sightings to build stories around. Although there isn't much evidence to suggest the existence of an actual abominable snowman, the tantalizing possibility of a half-human "snowape" running around the Himalayas will carry interested readers through the stale historical accounts. UFOs explores early sightings of bloated, cylindrical "spaceships" (which turned out to be Army blimps) before delving into the flying saucer craze that has occupied UFO enthusiasts for the past half-century. Recounting famous UFO sightings throughout history, the book explains each incident scientifically (when possible), but there are usually questions left unanswered. Kids will particularly enjoy the "If You See a UFO" inset. The page design mimics the format of "secret files," and ample photographs and paintings make for an engaging layout. Each book includes a brief glossary, a Web-site list, and a bibliography. John Green
