the latest and greatest,

Of their three albums, I feel it is the best of all they have written so far. This album is definitely worth the money you'll pay, especially if you like the cramps or the B-52's, with an edgy Coheed & Cambria flare around the rim. It is very well done and breaths new life into the world of what some would call a dying genre. They have an amazing stage energy that is comandeering and sound exactly how they do on the album. If you love to rock out don't waste any time.

Abominations review,

I bought the album because I heard one of the tracks being played on a local radio and I thought it was very good, plus it was a local band. At best I expected maybe one other fair track on the album. I have listened to the album maybe 5 times now and every track on this album will grow on you. Even though the lyrics are all associated with the macabre the actual music itself will blow you away. These guys are good, I had no idea how good until I listened to the entire album just a few times. You should not be disappointed after buying this album.

I agree that it is the best of the three albums. All are good, but if I had to choose just one, it would be this one.
For a good sampling, try the track, "plastic surgery hall of fame," its my favorite.

This is excellent. I really like this album, Schoolyard Heroes has come a long way. If you like this album, make sure to get their album Fantastic Wounds if you haven't already. I am looking forward to getting more of their stuff and maybe even seeing them in concert. ;D

Best so far, but still doesn't rival the live show. Catch them if you can.

Every horror movie fan knows that the big budget movies are not where it's at. It's the horror B-Movies that give you more blood for your dollar. Yeah, they're short on plot, but delivery the more gore per minute. If there was such a thing as "B" Music, then Schoolyard Heroes would be on the top of the list. Hell, Abominations could be the soundtrack to many of B-movies I've seen.
The lyrics are twisted, tortured, and filled with plenty of gory visions. The music is high-energy for the most part, with a few dark and slow entries. The female vocals fit the whole horror experience since it's the woman doing all the screaming. The song titles are ridiculous, but the overall product is a frightening and powerful experience. |
