Does anyone know if "Jolene" on this CD is Dolly Parton's "Jolene" or a Dylan composition? I'm happy either way, just curious.

Thanks. I realized after I posted this that Dolly Parton's is a song for a woman, but then, sometimes they change lyrics, so.... anyway, thanks.

Jack White sang it. Didn't even change the lyrics... Cant picture Dylan singing it though :)

Even though I think all songs are excellent, this one stood out as one of my top favorites -- and I've only played the album once so far!

Dylan's "Jolene" is an old blues song written by Willie Dixon and released as a single in 1955 by Willie Mabon under the title "Seventh Son". It is not an original Dylan composition even though he takes full credit. All Dylan did was substitute Dixon's original lyrics and the song title with his own. He's been guilty of this many times in the past but, in my view, this was the most egregious.
