About My Father's Business,
By
This review is from: About My Father's Business: Taking Your Faith to Work (Hardcover)
After I came to the realization that living a Christian life is abut others I still struggled with incorporating this view into my daily life, especially my business. "About My Father's Business" is an easy read that challanged me with an easy step by step process of seeing others as Christ sees them.
The principles in this book have change the way that I see people and has already had a significant impact on my business. Whether a new believer trying to grasp what it means to be a Christian, or a life long believer trying to live for God this book is a practical guide to living a life that will produce eternal results. This is a book that you will buy extras of to give to friends.

great evangelistic tool!,

This book includes an incredible tool for evangelism called the IMAP. It lined up perfectly with a passion for evangelism God was birthing in me, and as a result it's been one of the most impactful tools I've ever come across. It's helped me see the areas where I'm weak, it's given me consistency in keeping in touch with people, and it's given me vision for what to pray for them for. As I've had a desire growing again to have my time on this planet be all about personal ministry, this has been possibly the most effective tool I've come across to help me do that.

About My Father's Business,
By Armchair Interviews (Minneapolis, MN) - See all my reviews
This review is from: About My Father's Business: Taking Your Faith to Work (Hardcover)
There are two key words in this book: intentionality and relationship. Regi Campbell, author of About My Father's Business: Taking Your Faith to Work, challenges readers to be intentional in helping themselves move to the next level in their walk with Christ. To help readers reach their goal, Campbell has developed an intentionality map with five columns, A through E, with A for Apathetic and E for Excelling as a Christian.
Campbell then suggests readers pray, asking the Lord to bring people to mind that He wants us to be in relationship with. As each name comes to mind, place it in one of the five columns without too much thought or evaluation about apathy or excelling. Then each day scan the names and ask the Lord who you should pray for and in what other ways you might be involved with them. It could be a phone call, a meal, sharing an article or a book, playing a round of golf, etc. For Campbell it is about developing a relationship in advance of the gospel. Or rather it is living the gospel through the development of a relationship with others. Campbell's contention is that more people are turned off to Christianity by people who proclaim a message of love and restoration that they do not demonstrate in their own lives. Thus any challenging statement becomes a reason for ending the relationship. Campbell believes that relationships should be developed that can grow through challenges, including challenging conversations. This is not an easy book to read, but for those who take Christ's command to go and make disciples of all nations, this book lays out a clear path for making a difference in people's lives.

Practical and timely,

How do I share my faith with those around me? This excellent book gives practical wisdom on how to do it without scaring everyone away. The author speaks from experience as a successful business man living out his faith in Jesus Christ. I recommend this book to anyone wondering how to move their faith from a Sunday only experience to application every day.

Make the utmost impact by being intentional and strategic,

This review is from: About My Father's Business: Taking Your Faith to Work (Hardcover)
This past year I left a very successful career in Corporate America to take on the challenge of starting a Market Place Ministry for one of the largest churches in America. In one year's time God grew this Market Place Ministry by 1,400%. Much of the credit for the success of this ministry belongs to the leadership, guidance, and wisdom of Regi Campbell. Sixty percent of my corporate life, I was involved in Market Place Ministry and after reading, About My Father's Business, I have a continuing thought; "I wish I would have read Regi's book earlier! Being intentional and strategic, as AMFB suggests, would have helped me be a much more effective tool for bringing glory to God's kingdom. If you want to maximize your efforts in making an impact for God, whether at work or in your personal life, About My Father's Business is a MUST READ!

More than a typical Christian Book,
This review is from: About My Father's Business: Taking Your Faith to Work (Hardcover)
About My Father's Business is more than a Typical Christian book. It is a discussion of the calling and the lifestyle of "making disciples". As a result it makes the reader deal with issues of our heart like "How much do I really love the people around me?" and "What are the core motivations of my life?". Seeing this book as another book about workplace evangelism is a superficial reading of a book that calls out to much, much more. Campbell's setting is mostly the workplace becasue that is where his experience lies. About My Father's Business is a profoundly challenging book for Christians ready to expand beyond knowing more to following Christ. Letting this book seep into your life will challenge you in new and fresh ways to live in daily dependence on the guidance of the Spirit and to live sacrifically out of the overflowing gratitude in your heart.

I saw this book for the first time at PromiseKeepers and was interested as soon as I cracked the cover. Campbell does an excellent job of explaining his thoughts about bringing Christ to work and walks the reader through the thought process. For most the thought of "evangelizing" at work sends shudders down the spine, but Campbell shows that it doesn't have to be as scary as many of us view it. His approach of meeting co-workers where they are and giving them what they need is refreshing, and is far more akin to wading into the shallow end of the pool than jumping into the deep end blind-folded. This book has helped move me on a path to increased comfort in spiritual leadership in the workplace. A must read for those who struggle with how to keep from checking Christ at the doorstep to work.

For a long time, many of my friends have said there was no concise, user-friendly guide to sharing the gospel with the people in your sphere of influence. One of these friends is the "Evangelism Outreach" leader for her church, and I shared Regi's book with her. She loved its easy, non-preachy style, and the simple method for reaching people you care about without driving them away.
I find this book to be an invaluable tool for everyone, not just people in the work outside the home arena, but for everyone from executives to stay-at-home moms. A quick, inspiring read with 1-2-3 steps for assessing and assisting your acquaintances' needs in their walk with Christ. Truly a standout in a very crowded field from an author who writes from proven experience and wisdom.

This review is from: About My Father's Business: Taking Your Faith to Work (Hardcover)
This is the most encouraging and practical book I have read on sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ. It showed me how to make the Great Commission a do-able, natural, part of my life - something that simply flows from my relationships with others. This book is a must-read for those who want to make an eternal impact in the lives of those around them.

Compelling,
This review is from: About My Father's Business: Taking Your Faith to Work (Hardcover)
"About my Father's Business" is compelling because it is written by someone who is living it. Regi's corporate and entrepreneurial experience coupled with his commitment to the Christian community make for a dynamite read. His experiences are entertaining and engaging. His practical tools for serving others in the marketplace are very helpful. This book is great for individual enjoyment or small group discussion. Either way; buckle up and hang on for the ride. You will be much the better person after enjoying "About my Father's Business".
