Professor Fred Stephens is Professor Emeritus and former head of the Department of Surgery, the University of Sydney, and Consultant Emeritus in Surgical Oncology, Sydney Hospital and the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Syndey, Australia. He writes from a lifetime of experience in the treatment of cancer, and as a man who knows what it is like to lose a loved one to this disease. Professor Stephens has prevously published Cancer Explained.
