About the Sleeping Beauty
Although this is not the type of book that you read to your children before bed time, it is very useful for allowing readers to explore the many versions of Sleeping Beauty from all over the world. I used this book for a research project and found it very helpful and the versions he chose to share were facinating!

Nothing that special
This slim read by the writer of the "Mary Poppins" book leaves a bit to be desired. It starts off with the author's own version of Sleeping Beauty and has five other tales from different countries and time periods. In between Travers' version and the others, there is an essay about Sleeping Beauty and fairy tales. Nothing in the essay was anything that will surprise or...

In between Travers' version and the others, there is an essay about Sleeping Beauty and fairy tales. Nothing in the essay was anything that will surprise or really intrigue the reader. I think there are better essays and collections of fairy tales out there.
