5.0 out of 5 stars The Bizz with the Wizz, December 22, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: About Time (Audio CD)
This latest album is even more solid and consistant than the first. First heard them on the Continuum and caught them in Jackson a few years ago. These guys sure don't play like a bunch of white dudes. They may be young, but sound like they've been doing it for years. The beats and rhymes are good, and the horn section is on the money every time. This disc is the dope sh--; definitley worth picking up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hip-Hop,Jazz,Phat rhymes,Funkybeats, what more do you want?, October 27, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: About Time (Audio CD)
OK, this album is just plain and simply the bomb.I know there are more words to use than "the bomb", but that just plain explains these guys.Just some amazing music here. If you like jazz, funk, hip-hop, this is the album you must have. I strongly suggest you get into you car, drive to your local record store and get this album. I had to special order it, so don't let that discourage you. It is well worth the wait.No joke. I took this album to my friends house. Big mistake. I didn't see my album for a week. They loved it. And, so will you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Maceo couldn't have picked a better group, January 14, 1999

I tried for weeks to find "About Time" after I saw FFF in Indianapolis at the Maceo/Fishbone concert but to no avail. Since they are local out of Portland it was impossible so I came here and ordered it. With this group, funk has been revolutionized! Seeing them break dance in the crowd just goes to show how many different ways white boys can truly be funky - James Brown should give them props!!

Great CD! Excellent bass lines, memorable lyrics, and a sound that seems fresh every time I listen to it. I can't wait for the next one. . .

4.0 out of 5 stars Good listeing, February 6, 2008
This review is from: About Time (Audio CD)
This cd is what I like about Hiphop. It is what I call live hiphop. Meaning it is a band that plays the beats instead of a DJ. They got driving bass lines, and chilled out keyboards. Most of the songs on this cd are chillen out, groovin tunee, there are a few that do a good job mixin the horns with the turntables and drums and make you wanna dance. I wish i could find FFOF's other albums but they are really hard to find.

Pick this up if want that groovin, chill stuf. It is really good.

More refined than "Slap Me Five."
Overall an excellent album.
Could do without the extended silence at the end of track 14.
