So this is where Oklahoman Music Makers are going....I Wish. This is an amazing album from guys that take after their layered guitar brotheren Hum and Shiner. This much music coming from only 3 people still amazes me. There is so much good that I can hardly begin to describe it all. The lyrics are very well written and I can actually understand them and their meanings (sorry Hum..I can't say this about you.) About Tomorrow's Mileage is simply full of what good music is all about. I wish someone could enlighten me as to which water source these guys are drinking from...I'd really like a glass.

the central attraction of this album is it's use of viscerally recorded emotion that seems to levitate above most other music in this genre.

These Oklahoma rockers take complex rock to a new emotional level. From the time and melody changes in the first track, Corresponding Failure, to the melancholy tones in Tomorrows Mileage and Sunrise for the Blind, we can see the complexity in their structure and how they do it with such confidence. They've managed to take a platform that usually sounds like a jam session and make it into something that flows with the characteristics of a real full-length album. This is some of the most intersting emo/indie i've listened to, and would recommend this to anyone who can sit down, analyze it a bit, and then enjoy it for the quality of the music.
i recommend these bands if you liked Traindodge's cd:
Roadside Monument
Pitchblende

I agree with "A Customer" that they are doing some great layering. It is also clear that they have been paying close attention to how they "sound" as a group. Many newer bands don't come close to the cohesiveness TD has achieved.

However, in my opinion they have a long way to go to get to the professionalism that Hum and Shiner reached in their heyday. The closest band I've found to taking up the torch is Placer. Traindodge is improving at a very rapid rate, but certain tempo issues and lack of differentiation between songs is still blocking them from really taking off. I think they will get there though! I'm liking this album more and more with each listen.
