Jericho grows up.,

This review is from: Above the City (Audio CD)
This band used to be called Jericho when they lived in Boston. Their last EP was on the same record label as my band and we played a few shows with them around Boston. awesome guys, great to get drunk with, and great band. Move to VA, get signed to Fat Wreck, change their name to Smoke or Fire. the new album....great. All the things i loved about Jericho, but now a tighter band and better production. Straight up, this CD rocks. Great for driving around in your car real fast, signing along at the top of your lungs.

Typical Fat Release!!,
This review is from: Above the City (Audio CD)
So I've been waiting for this Cd for a couple weeks now, since I love FATwreck and I mostly like every band they put out. Anyway this is like I said a typical fat release. Good melody good riffs. The Cd gets weak near the end but the 1st 9 tracks or so are really good. Maybe by the end I just got tierd of the sound. There like a cross between Dillenger Four, Strike Anywhere and a little Wilhelm Scream mixed in. Good release, worth the money.

All the comparisons have already been made to bands like Kid Dynamite and Strike Anywhere, but these guys are more likable than them at times. It's catchy when it needs to be catchy, hard rockin when it needs heavy, and the lyrics are a plus too. A great start for a new band.
