Two words: Blue Buddha!,

This review is from: 13 Above the Night (Audio CD)
The chances of you just sort of picking up a TKK album out of nowhere is rather slim, so I'll sort of assume you know their sleazy, cheesy, industrial/techno/lounge/retro style. This CD is actually my favorite TKK album for them all, for one stupid reason: Blue Buddha! This song is crazily infectious, and yet also manages to cue riotous laughter among all my friends. "who's behind closed doors? Blue Buddha!" Became a call and response of sorts among all the buds when this album hit. You'll certainly never hear it spun at your local club, but the song is worthy of worship. This album seems to revel in the cheese-lounge factor more than their other work, but it's all done with a great sense of humour.

Though I like their earlier stuff more, this is a solid release from them, and "13 Above The Night" is liked the most by some fans. Roughly fitting into the techno-industrial genre, this album is full of distorted vocals, driving beats, horns, sex/drug lyrics, and anything else you can imagine. Plus you can dance to it. More like Lords Of Acid than Skinny Puppy. Each of their albums are different, but this one pleases like any of the others. It's perfect for a "Disko Fleshpot" who's ready to live the "Badlife".

This is some of the best mood music ever made,

3 Above is one of my favorite albums of all time. By strobelight, blacklight, or candlelight, this one rocks. The lyrics are dark and grainy (big surprise for TKK) but the general feel of this album is a lot more melodic than some of their other stuff. I know, I know, a lot of people will tell you that Kooler Than Jesus is the better album, but I have to disagree. 13 drew me into another world, just down on the other side of the street in that dark alley, and kept me there till the last song ended. Buy it.
