4.0 out of 5 stars great collection February 25, 2002
Format:Audio CD
There are some absolute classics on this soundtrack, it's basically a greatest hits of rap between 1993-1995. It is missing two key songs that were in the movie 2Pac's pain & loyal 2 the game. I don't understand why they weren't on it, kind of a let down since i bought it for pain, which any knowledgeable person knows is the best 2pac song of all.

1.0 out of 5 stars 2 PAC - Pain ? December 19, 2002
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
I can't be merciful as others have to this product. I think it is pathetic that Pain wasn't on there for selfish reasons I suppose. For those that have never heard this song you don't know what your missing. Pain is one of the most important and very person, emotional songs of 2 Pacs career. You can really feel his Pain in the song..For Real! The beat is timeless unlike some of his most popular material. I was jammin this on cassette when this soundtrack first came out. I was hoping it turned up on "Better Dayz" but it didnot. I think this soundtrack is incomplete and by a long shot. Alot of the other material sounds dated now with the exception of "Big Pimpin". Pain is easily the best song of 2Pacs career!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but Bias January 11, 2003
Format:Audio CD
This is a good soundtrack but bias at the same time. Tupac was the star of the movie and it's set in New York. So...why are all of the rap songs west coast joints...there should have been new york hip hop on there as well. Why wasn't Tupac's "Pain" on there...it was the best song on the musical score....makes me think....

1.0 out of 5 stars WHERE THE HELL IS "PAIN"? May 8, 2004
Format:Audio CD
Where the hell is Pain on this album? Pain was the most HEAVILY used song in the movie and is also Pac's BEST SONG OF HIS ENTIRE CAREER. It is an unbelievable track with amazing lyrics. Why the hell didn't Suge Knight include it on this CD? The only reason I wanted this thing was to hear Pain!!! Don't even bother with this man, get the cassette instead, it includes it.
This is pathetic without Pain. It's unbelievable it isn't included on the soundtrack.

5.0 out of 5 stars great soundtrack February 25, 2006
Format:Audio CD
I had this original soundtrack over 10 years ago on cassette

unfortuantely it disappeared in college , now I have this remastered CD. Its a great soundtrack the one issue is that "Pain" by 2pac only appeared on the cassete version of this sountrack and is no longer in print.

4.0 out of 5 stars What's Old is New Again October 28, 2005
Format:Audio CD
I own this tape,Yes the tape I bought it years ago and have played it several times every now and then;but what will make me listen to it again is the fact that, the song by:Sweet Sable is alive again-How?..Well, Alica Keys has given that song life again-her latest single"Unbreakable" is sampled from that very song by Sweet Sable-Old Time Sake, was a nice song to me back then;but I love it even MORE since Alica used it for her song.Anybody that has this soundtrack play the song again and then listen to "Unbrakeable"-it's wonderful to hear the simliarity; plus to tell the truth. I had been listening to Music Choice channnel(on cable)and Sweet Sable's version was on and that's when I realized the sample.Anyway it's a good song by both artist.I especailly love the lyrics to Alica's song.Take another listen, tell me what you think.[...]

3.0 out of 5 stars Looking for Pain, Loyal to the Game, and Mi Monie Rite??? February 20, 2004
Format:Audio CD
I'll give this soundtrack three stars because It does not have two of 2pac's songs on there Pain and Loyal to the Game and Mi Monie Rite by Lord G on the CD soundtrack. If everyone is looking for those three songs. They are both on the TWO Cassettes and a CD single. One is on the Soundtrack BUT it's on cassette as BONUS TRACKS not the CD SOUNDTRACK. Another cassette the two songs are on is the Music From Above the Rim Maxi Single with both songs Pain, and Loyal to the Game on there as well as Part Time lover by H-Town and I'm Still in Love with You by Al B. Sure! Mi Monie Rite by Lord G is not on this cassette single. This tape is very hard to find because it only came out in the summer of 94. The third is a CD single called the Music from Above the Rim Regulate single with the three songs Pain, Loyal to the Game and My Monie Rite. The CD also has Regulate by Warren G. AND Nate Dogg. This CD is also hard to find because it also came out the summer of 94. To find Music From Above the Rim Maxi single on tape and Music From Above the Rim Regulate single on CD you can go on Ebay.com because I got both of them off of Ebay. If yall don't want to do that then just get the soundtrack on cassette not the CD because again Pain, Loyal To the Game and Mi Monie Rite are on the cassette soundtrack as BONUS TRACKS.

I bought this CD thinking that all the songs from the movie were going to be on it, but there were only about 3 good songs that were from the movie. There is only about 3 or 4 good songs on the entire CD, the rest of the CD is filled with BORING and OLD R/B music. They don't have the song "Pain" by 2Pac, they don't have the Kurupt song, and missing a lot of others. I rarely listen to this CD, not very good.
