His real name is Rodolfo Páez, like his father. When he was a child people called him "Rodolfito" (in Spanish, an affectionate form of "Rodolfo") to distinguish him from his father. With the passage of time, this nickname became just "Fito", and that is where his stage name came from.

I, comming from a American & Latino family that has a large range of musical taste, must say that this man has crossed all boundaries in cultures and made a fantastic collection of songs that anyone would enjoy, whether you speak spanish or not. Another beautiful album, from a great Argentine song writer.

I'm no great music critic, I just know what I like.. and Fito is my favorite, in any language.. he's a genius! "La casa desaparecida" is what some would call "long" but it's beautiful and clearly heartfelt..I've never even been to Argentina and I was moved by it. I'm partial to "Desierto" as well myself. Wonderful, just like almost everything else he's ever done.. or ever will do.
