If a beginner has no projects of her own in mind, this book is a good way to start. It takes you through lots of different projects to make and learn the basic steps. But if you have your own project in mind, as I did, you will have to wade through the book to find tips on it. It does start with general ideas on needed supplies and things, which are good.
