3.0 out of 5 stars Rock & Roll en Espanol January 14, 2013
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Yet again, another supercool presentation by the folks at Finder's Keepers. I just LOVE this record company. I want to do volunteer work for them in some capacity, if only I can get to meet them and catch a glimpse of how they go about finding this old dusty obscure wild astonishingly radical-yet- accessible music from Non-American lands and dig it up and get it to shine all sparkly and get the production rights and blast it back at us in its absudly enthusiastic glory. YES! Well, anyway, about this particular compilation, this one is unusual in that there are numerous relativley faithful covers of American and British classic rock such as Crossroads by the Cream for example, but they're sung in Espanol. Two of these covers come off as comedy: "Space Oddity" (Major Tom) by 2 clownish radio personalities, and maybe unintentional comedy with the Spanish and the peppy female vocals on "Get off my Cloud". Not burst out laughing at the latter, but definitely you get a smile from this one. But there are some originals and they are pretty bad-ass. So, there are 20 or so tracks on this compilation, spanning a wide range of diversity, the common thread throughout is the Bel-Ter independent 1960's & 70's record label, who clearly were way ahead of the game and producing some really wild music. Liner notes were great and this is another of those to add to your collection of Finder's Keeper's catalog.
