About the Author

A manga artist for over ten years, Watase's debut came in 1989 at the age of 18 when her short story PAJAMA DE OJAMA (An Intrusion in Pajamas) appeared in the monthly ShÔjo Comic manga anthology. Since then she has written and drawn some 50 volumes worth of different short stories and long-running manga series, including the fantastically popular FUSHIGI YÛGI, also available in English from VIZ. Her works have provided the basis for two television series, an OVA series, anime soundtrack CDs, and a string of novels.

Absolute Boyfriend is a great manga series. The story is funny, sad in places, and you will like the characters. The first couple of volumes have more comedy than feelings. But, as the story unfolds the really tough choice of which boy should be her true boyfriend becomes more complicated, and the comedy is dialed down. Their are still funny places in all of the books! I also have read to the end of the series, and while the ending is very, very sad, and tearful, it is handled in a wonderful manner. And after a breathing space of a few days, the ending is really the only way the series could end that would honestly make sense. After you get over how the series ends, you begin to realize just how well the emotions were dealt with, and what a complete sacrifice one of the characters makes in the name of love....

This volume goes more into Riiko, Soshi, and Night relationship its like a rollercoaster but always makes you want to know whats coming next.

This sequel book to the incredible volume one of Yuu Watase's 'Absolute Boyfriend' is a complete page turner and has an absolutely killer ending! Another brilliant piece from the author of the bestselling 'Gakuen Alice'. Her art is as soft and beautiful as ever and her story heart warming. Just don't read it unless you have volume three ready to hand, because by the time you reach the last page you'll be screaming for more!
