Garcinia cambogia is a small, pumpkin-shaped fruit, sometimes called tamarind. It has long been used in traditional south Asian dishes, including soups, curries and chutneys. Adding this ingredient to meals is considered to be effective in making meals more "filling" because of garcinia's appetite-blocking abilities. Garcinia cambogia contains an extract called hydroxycitric acid (hca) which comes from the rind of the fruit. The hydroxycitric acid aids in weight loss by helping to block fat and suppressing your appetite.
