This kills their last cd by a mile. It is way heavier and the riffs are better. I would say this is a mixture of new and old Pro-Pain. The best songs are unrestrained, hate coalition, rise of the antichrist, and road to nowhere. If you like Pro-Pain at all, you have to pick this one up. I have all of their cd's and believe me, this one is one of their best.

Pro-pain have always been a favorite of mine. If you own any pro-pain albums then you pretty much know what you are getting. A solid metal listening experience. This one is no different. Always solid lyrics, solid musically and always something new thrown in some song or songs. The Truth hurts is still my all time favorite Pro-pain album. Absolute Power does pro-pain justice though, I would recommend it to anyone who loves metal.

this is one of the better sounding cd production wise where they lose points every cd but this one started to rise up in intensity, sound and their musical style again.being a long time fan the problem is the music is solid but the production is weak very tremble heavy with no serious bass end which loses me-I like hearing a band on cd as the same on stage how they realy are.A power sounds more like the pro-pain of old from Foul Taste of Freedom and The Truth Hurts = solid ,heavy & in you face music you can't ignore!

after just about 20 years they have have written some great music but the production always hinders the punch factor of the music but this time it seem not to be the case the guitar have the full heavy cruch of live tone behind them like the early days foul taste of freedom, but more brute force.back to basic is good strong and solid and powerful sound pro-pain's strong point. If they only could have done this years ago they would have been huge like panters, seputura and hatebreed.

OK...I've been a huge fan of Gary and the boys in Pro-Pain from the start. I was a huge Crumbsuckers fan too! And don't forget Heavy Rain. I may be a bit biased being that I'm from Baldwin, NY and have known Gary since he was doing gigs in basements and the small dive bars around town.......but enough about that.

I love every Pro-Pain album. They are one of those bands like Slayer, you always know it's them. As with all bands that have been going at it for a long time....some releases are stronger than others......ABSOLUTE POWER is Pro-Pain's strongest release in years and in my opinion possibly thier best....I've been listening to it non-stop at home & in my car.....I even put it on a cassette (remember those?) so that I could listen to it in my beat up old car.

This disc seems to have taken the strongest moments from some of Pro-Pain's previous albums and put it together in one great package........it's a combo of old school heaviness & a slighty newer edged (can I say "progressive")
elements make for a great listening experience. it seems as if they have "matured" a little more, as they seem to do on every release. Don't let that word "progressive" scare you away, Pro-Pain still bludgeon you with heaviness, Gary still sings with his raspy, in your face tone but with a new brutalness while providing his politcal commentary on current events. Absolute Power runs a little over 37 minutes....which I think is perfect. It's long enough to leave you satisfied, but short enough to leave you wanting more!(remember Slayer's Reign In Blood? that was 28 minutes of fury....and it made me wait like a salivating rabid dog for Slayer's next disc!)

If you are a Pro-Pain fan, this is a no-brainer, you should have it already! If you don't, get in your [...
