5.0 out of 5 stars a worthy conclusion to a great series, December 16, 2008
This review is from: The Absolute Sandman, Vol. 4 (Hardcover)
Vol 4 is a very much a worthy conclusion to the Sandman series. It does an amazing job of bringing together all of the many (many) disparate threads into a single resolution that is totally and completely satisfying. While some may not like the simple art style featured in "The Kindly Ones," you'd be hard pressed not to admit that the art for "The Wake" looks beautiful and sets the tone perfectly.

This review is from: The Absolute Sandman, Vol. 4 (Hardcover)
The Sandman is one of the greatest comic series ever writen and this compilation, Sandman Absolute vol 1, 2, 3 and 4 have the quality that this piece of art deserves!

Awesome finishing, all the extras and comments, the box and hardcover are flawless!

This is a must have for any comic addicted and is the best "graphical novel" writen by Neil G. that you may ever find on earth!

5.0 out of 5 stars Gaiman shines, December 16, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Absolute Sandman, Vol. 4 (Hardcover)
As is the case with the first three volumes, this over-sized, expensive book is more than worth the purchase price. Unlike many of DC's hardcover volumes, the quality of the Absolute editions is impeccable.

As for the material itself, it's Neil Gaiman. What more is there to say?

i own the collection and find myself leafing through my favorite parts of each volume many a rainy day--or any other day i need an excuse to stay inside. in testimony to the pure beauty and poetry of the art and prose i will state quite honestly that, after the dog and cat, my beloved sandman collection--all 30+ lbs of it--is number 3 on my 'get it out of the burning house' list.

5.0 out of 5 stars Neil Gaiman, enough said, February 9, 2009

This finishes the Sandman storyline. Beautiful artwork and fantastic storyline. Gaiman does something in this that was completely unexpected and ties up all loose ends.

I expected a bit more in the bonus features, especially since it was the last volume, but it was still very enjoyable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, January 18, 2009

This review is from: The Absolute Sandman, Vol. 4 (Hardcover)
The Absolute Sandman editions are just so amazing. Oversized, hardcover with slipcase, great quality regarding paper and ink. This is top of the line when it comes to collections. I will not go so much into the storyline since this collections contiunues right after the privious and to have the complete collection you really need all 4, right? These looks so good in my bookshelf. More comics should be presented like this. 5 stars, no complaints!

All of the Absolute Sandman are must haves. I suggest buying the 4th volume now before it becomes harder to find and more expensive due to discontinuation like the 2nd volume is.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great story questionable production, May 21, 2009
This review is from: The Absolute Sandman, Vol. 4 (Hardcover)
The story and art are amazing a must for any comic or Gaiman fan. While the extras weren't as exciting as the previous 3 volumes vol 4 is more than worth the price. The only problem (and the reason it got 4 instead of 5 stars) is there was a gouge out of the book cover but the slipcase was perfectly fine. This implies some lack of quality control at the printers. It doesn't affect the interior pages so I kept it. However I am slightly disappointed that the printing and binding don't live up to the quality of the story and art.

I loved this. Wish Gaiman would write more Sandman, I think it's his best after reading American Gods (which was good too) and Good Omens (not great.
