April Alisa Marquette, a native New Yorker was delighted with the Literature and Creative Writing electives offered in college. Once a tutor for middle school and high school students, she shared with them her love for reading as well as writing. She is committed to creating detailed sagas that depict smart, sexy, savvy multi-cultural women.

She also writes non-fiction. She is the co-author of a series of inspirational books with a renowned New York evangelist. Relinquish and Reap is the name of the series. Autobiographical, seven purse-sized books are slated to tell the seventy-something Jessica Janna's story. One for each decade of Jessica's life, you will feel the love, as the authors offer tidbits on how to live peaceably amid life's turbulence.

April also writes a weekly column online, discussing Ethnic Beauty. In her column she offers beauty advice, tips, and tricks. Ms. Marquette's book, Absolution, was an interesting read and touched my heart.

Revolving around the lives of four dedicated friends and the unspoken love that exists between them, the ensuing drama is believable and threatens everything they believe in. The hurt feelings, mistrust and bitter words that are enchanged, as well as the pain wrenching sense of betrayal, is believable. The last few chapters of Absolution are heart wrenching but left me cheering for Beau and his true sense of forgiveness despite overwhelming odds. He is portrayed as a true friend, despite all odds.
Ms. Marquette's phrase, "Love never dies, never walks out on you and never regrets", is beautifully well said and fits the situations that are explored in Absolution.

"Absolution" is about the lives of four friends. With drama piled on top of drama, will this group remain friends till the end?

"Absolution" was a very good book. It was entertaining, enjoyable and fun. I really liked April Marquette's message that love never dies, never walks out on you and never regrets. The only thing I would have liked to have seen different with this novel is for a certain character to be happy with someone of her own. Hopefully there will be a sequel.
