5.0 out of 5 stars Don't use anything else
I've been using absorbers for longer than I can remember. I never dry my car or motorcycles with anything else. They don't damage the finish, soak up tons more water than towels or other chamoise, and actually help you stay streak free when drying. This is by far the best drying tool available anywhere. Swimmers use them, car cleaners use them, any time you have liquid...

3.0 out of 5 stars not a replacemernt for Shamwow
This is a true chamois that does not absorb water, just helps shine things up. Works well as advertised.

One of the best inventions EVER!

5.0 out of 5 stars A 'Magic Towel', July 14, 2010

I've been using these for years and I haven't found a better one yet. Even Sham-Wow falls short in some areas.
Absorber Uses: In the shower, wipe down tiles and glass quickly, dry your hair, wipe off water from your bod. In the garage, 'shammy' your wet car. In the yard, wipe dry wet lawn furniture. In the house, wipe clean any surface, damp-wipe dirty screens, dry Fido after a bath (Sham-Wow works a bit better for this). On the lake, keep one in your kayak/boat to wipe dry after use. To maintain, just wash it in the washer. Never develops a sour odor. Great product. This is my 'Magic Towel'!
BTW, Sham-Wow works okay for the above, but does not dry surfaces without streaking. Also, you must maintain it more, by not washing it with softeners. Sham-Wow excels at picking up (absorbing) liquids from carpet or fabrics. The Absorber isn't made for this type of chore.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dual purpose, February 27, 2010

We purchased this Chamois fifteen years ago to dry our boat after washing it. We recently bought another to dry the clear glass door on our shower stall in order to keep it spot free. It works beautifully and is far superior to the ShamWow we originally used.

5.0 out of 5 stars Weird but effective, February 6, 2010
This review is from: The Absorber Synthetic Drying Chamois, Travel Size, 17" x 13" (Misc.)
To be honest, I grabbed one of these in a hurry and expected something different, but I'm amazed at how well it works. At first the odd wetness was a challenge to get used to, and it never feels right, but it really works. Just rinse with hot water before first use and store it damp in the tube when done. If you forget to do the whole damp tube thing worry not, as it'll just dry as a dry stiff board of a rag. Add water, ring out, and store in the tube.

As far as using the Absorber, it's very absorbent and keeps soaking up more water. Wring it out every now and then, and it's back to its rubbery uber absorbing self. When done, wring it out again and store in the tube, which is great for hasty winter car washes, as you can throw the tube back in your trunk or whatever for the next go round. Does it dry a car perfectly? It gets damn close, but I've gotten slightly better results with other types of towels (though I need multiple ones to beat the Absorber), but then I have many wet rags to deal with (a pain in the winter, especially if you wash away from home).

5.0 out of 5 stars Whoa., July 22, 2009
This review is from: The Absorber Synthetic Drying Chamois, Travel Size, 17" x 13" (Misc.)
This thing is seriously amazing. It absorbs everything and rings completely dry. It is better than any normal chamois I've used. And at 8 bucks?! How can you go wrong? But really, I dried my car in about 3 minutes. Its really easy to use, it feels strong, and it's pretty big. Best of all these things, it actually works. All those infomercial chamois have been reviewed and shot down. I dare anyone to use this and write an honestly negative review.

Bottom Line: If you hand wash your car, (and you should) BUY ONE.

5.0 out of 5 stars just like the diving chamois only costs less:), January 21, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Absorber Synthetic Drying Chamois, Travel Size, 17" x 13" (Misc.)
I looked all over the internet for a chamois towel that would cost less than the popular sporting goods brands. Divers use them and they are great, but the well known sporting goods brands are twice as much money as this and my child kept losing his nice chamois. SO....we needed a cheaper solution and this is it. It is about the same size as the other ones he's had....possibly a bit thinner but I don't think that will matter for what he'll use it for. These come in a tube and are damp when you get it, but they will dry stiff. You can wash them in the washer, but make sure you hang to dry. If you're looking for an inexpensive diving chamois towel...Yay...this is it! I'm happy to have found it! UPDATE: I even forgot and put this in the dryer and it did fine. I wouldn't recommend it, but it was nice to know that it wasn't ruined:)

5.0 out of 5 stars highly absorbent material, August 29, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Absorber Synthetic Drying Chamois, Travel Size, 17" x 13" (Misc.)
I'm impressed with the volume which this absorbent material soaks up. I use it to wipe down my jetski after each usage. It removes water from nearly all hard-to-reach places and leaves the craft virtually dry. Conventional towels or other rags would take 2-3 wipings, and this thing seems to act like a squeegee, except it doesn't push the water, it soaks it up.

I am giving this product 4 stars in hopes that it will be 5 (let's see how it stands up over time) in a few months.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absorber, May 11, 2008
This review is from: The Absorber Synthetic Drying Chamois, Travel Size, 17" x 13" (Misc.)
These thing do work pretty well.
You just have to ring them out hard.
I use the bigger one on car drying and the smaller ones around the house.
ie, drying the dog after his bath, sopping up a spill in a carpet. etc.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for streak free drying, December 8, 2011

I don't use this on my car, I use it on my black stove which loves to show streak marks every time I clean it. I was amazed when I used this to dry it. It shines like new and no more streaks. It feels a bit weird and is a little cumbersome to use but having a shiny stove is worth it....works wonders for my OCD lol.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for Travel, September 19, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Absorber Synthetic Drying Chamois, Travel Size, 17" x 13" (Misc.)
Absorber is a great travel towel. Two of my summer trips involve very humid weather the whole week. No hope of drying a towel. The absorber is the perfect solution. It doesn't have to be dry before it is ready to absorb tons of water again.
Tip: I did find that it smells much better when you leave it to air dry between uses. Storing it damply in the container had previously led to a very stinky towel halfway through the week. No problems when it air dried.
I purchased the small size so it will fit right in my toiletry bag. It works just fine. However, if you want to try to tie up your hair with the absorber, you might want a larger size.
My only complaint is that I was sent a white (maybe cream) colored absorber. That is not a good idea if you care about the appearance of your "towel." The white looks grungy after only a few uses. Our colored versions look fine.

Great product.
