This is a good starter book on evidence for creation. It really only shows five wonders, but is organized well, and will get the kids thinking and ready for more.

Absotively Posilutely the BEST evidence for Creation,
This review is from: Absotively, Posilutely, Best Evidence for Creation (Hardcover)
In this book, a young boy named Denny learns what the BEST evidence for Creation is and rushes off to tell his friends. Each of the three friends that he encounters has a different piece of evidence to share. One of the things that I love about the children's books published by MasterBooks and New Leaf Publishing Group is that there always seem to be neat facts about nature that we didn't know about. For instance, did you know that the bull giraffe's heart is 2.5 FEET long? We had fun measuring the length of our torsos to see if a 2.5 foot long heart would fit very well in our own bodies. (not so much!) We also learned that the giraffe's skin is very tight which helps force the blood back up to the heart from the lower body. They also have the SAME number of neck bones as humans - 7! What's interesting about this is that it takes almost 500 lbs of muscles and tendons to work their necks. If they had more neck bones, then they would need MORE muscles and neck bones, meaning that they would have more weight in their neck. If they had many more neck bones, they wouldn't be able to drink without falling over! We knew that frogs can bury themselves in the mud to survive the cold winters, but did you know that the Eastern Wood frog can survive even after more than 60 percent of their body freezes during the winter? How about meeting a frog that weighs almost 10 pounds with 12-inch legs and a 12-inch body? That would be the Goliath frog - I wouldn't want to encounter one of those! One of my favorite parts is when they talk about worldview. "The Bible is like a pair of glasses that we look through to understand the world......The Bible takes blurry things and makes them clear!" Disclosure: I received a complimentary copy of Absotively Posilutely from New Leaf Publishing Group in exchange for my honest review. I received no other compensation, and all opinions are my own

summer "science" fun!,
This review is from: Absotively, Posilutely, Best Evidence for Creation (Hardcover)
AbsoTIVEly, PosiLUTEly Best Evidence for Creation by Carl Kerby is a fun book that looks at the world through the world view "lens" of the Bible. comparing the world's view to the Christian Biblical view One of our favorite and amazing facts that we discoved in this book has to do with the large size of the giraffe's heart. Have you ever had that light-headed, dizzy feeling after hanging upside down? God special order designed the giraffe's heart extra big (can be up to 2.5 feet long and weigh up to 20 pounds) so it can pump the blood all the way up that tall neck. He also made this big heart with one way valves so that they don't get "headaches" from bending over with those long necks! By learning about the stars we realized that the heavens truly do declare the GLORY of God! I received a copy of these books for the purpose of review .

Maybe you can't get to the Creation Museum in Petersburg, Kentucky; but there's another way to teach your kids about creation.
Absotively Posilutely by Carl Kerby answers questions about God and his creation by sharing amazing facts that interest kids of all ages. For instance, did you know that the giraffe's heart can be up to 2.5 feet long and weigh more than 20 pounds? Did you know that the daddy Darwin frog carries its eggs in its throat for more than 50 days? These facts and more help kids learn about God's creation and His plan for us. Kids will learn the difference between a Christian worldview and a non-Christian worldview. And best of all, kids will enjoy reading a book that not only informs, but entertains. |
