I've used a variety of underspin reels for trout fishing for over 20 years now and this reel is by far the best of the bunch! Until purchasing this reel, I depended on the Diawa 80 reel ---- which I always believed was the best available, but even the Diawa's only had a life expectancy of a couple years of heavy use. This reel is much better made than the Diawa, performs much more consistantly, and will handle virtually anything that comes along.
Don't waste your time or money on the Shakespear or Zebco models. This is the reel you'll use for many years to come!

This little reel hauled in a 7 pound catfish with no problem. It will cast a mile and is very lightweight. I put it on a lightweight spinning rod and it is my favorite combo. I will probably order another for my wife soon. Would highly recommend.
