I fish 200-300 hours a year, much of that time casting with a baitcasting reel. I found the Black Max to be a good buy for the budget minded fisherman.Casting- Superior Retrieve - Fast Construction- Solid Oil it once in a while and the reel inside when not in use and you should get several seasons of use for your money.

This reel is one of the best buys for the money these days....holds more than enough line, drag and cast controls are exceptional for a bait cast reel at this price point. I bought 2 from here for my 14 yr old son and he absolutely has 0 complaints on the reels. We fish as a father/son team in a local bass tourney circuit and his two reels were both put on high end Denali rods for this season...

I buy a couple of these every year. They work great for about one year of saltwater use. Not the easiest to take apart and clean but for the price you can't beet them. I can buy five of these for half the price of the so called good ones and they won't last five or more years.
