This book seemed to be talking directly to me with the doubts and fears of being a stay at home mom. Such hope for enjoying every moment and not trying to hurry them along. Highly recommended!

This is a refreshing book that comes at a time when everybody is pushed to do more, buy more, be more, etc. It is a wonderful reminder that we really don't need more. We really just need to be. Some of my best childhood memories are of simple things that the author describes in this book, not of any of the presents I received or clothes that I wore. The book comes at a perfect time, just as summer is coming upon us, when we feel the need to put our children in summer camps and sign them up for a bunch of things just so that they aren't bored. I love how the author gives specific examples of what to do, and there are also little prompts that are mini "assignments" to keep you on track and to get you thinking. This is a great book for any mama (or dad!) who is looking to lead a slower, more balanced life, showing your kids what is really important in life.

This is a great, quick read to really put things in perspective when we need it most. If you are feeling overwhelmed, tired, or frustrated that you aren't able to do everything in a day, week, or weekend, this book is for you.

As parents we overload our kids schedules and our own, afraid of "missing out" but the reality is, we are already missing out... rushing from one thing to the next and not fully enjoying any one activity or moment in time. The author provides simple, everyday changes we can make to truly savor what is important to us and find more time in our day. If you can find 15 minutes a day to read this, you will find much more time once you start putting the ideas into action!

Shawn does a great job with this book, to break down and provide a way for the reader to define their own ideal slow days. She gives suggestions and examples, and does it all in a way that made me feel like, "this is totally do-able", "I can do this". I loved the overall theme of this book: slowing down and really enjoying what is most important in life. I think we could all use a little of this in our world today, and, with summer coming up, it's a perfect time to start implementing the ideas in this book. Totally recommend this book, and well worth the $9.99!!!

Savoring Slow is a wonderful resource about slowing down and valuing, as well as acting on, what feels most centering for yourself and family. Is is filled with great ideas and awesome prompts to deepen your personal connection to the concepts. The best part of this guide is that Shawn has genuinely walked the walk and she often speaks from her own experience in a way that is not preachy or dry... It is like sitting down with a friend! I am practicing the ideas in this book and they make a difference!

A really wonderful book full of journaling prompts, ideas, and a plan to Ban Busy and Savor Slow. I am working on implementing Habit 1: Wake Up, and am looking forward to slowly, calmly, and gradually starting the other 11 habits she outlines. Shawn's experience is invaluable and a touchstone for me as I attempt to be the strong, calm mama I want to be for my family. This is a sweet, helpful, meditative little book. Perfect for us moms who don't want to be so busy anymore but don't know how to stop.
