5.0 out of 5 stars well done bueyes
excelente, este es el 1er album completo que escucho de amduscia y realmente me fascino... en este album suena mas bailable y mas trance que sus compatriotas de Hocico, gracias a internet conoci a esta bannda y no me arrepiento de haberlos escuchado, hey fanatics ebm industrial techno, this is a must have!

3.0 out of 5 stars An album full of repeats
Having been a fan of Amduscia for many years, I was really looking forward to this album when it came out. However, after a few listens, I came learn that Amduscia pretty much used up all their good ideas on Melodies For the Devil and the Dead or Alive EP, and this album was largely a sour repeat of those tracks. What we're left with is pretty much an hour of the same...

3.0 out of 5 stars An album full of repeats, April 25, 2010

Having been a fan of Amduscia for many years, I was really looking forward to this album when it came out. However, after a few listens, I came learn that Amduscia pretty much used up all their good ideas on Melodies For the Devil and the Dead or Alive EP, and this album was largely a sour repeat of those tracks. What we're left with is pretty much an hour of the same song on repeat - not much diversity in their sound (as usual) but even so, it just sounds like I've heard these songs before. Whereas Melodies For the Devil succeeded with complex, layered melodies (a surprising use of counterpoint in EBM music... huh?) and unique drum patterns, bouncy synths, crazy basslines, this album just sounded like agro-psytrance with an angry voice spouting the usual (horrible) lyrics. That's not to say that From Abuse to Apostasy never succeeds; "Absolution" and "Placeres Negros" are highlights of this otherwise bland album. Fortunately, Madness in Abyss seems to put them a bit more in line with their previous releases, though I'd still recommend you save your money and buy Melodies for the Devil and Dead or Alive and skip their newer stuff.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best releases of 2006, July 10, 2006
This review is from: From Abuse to Apostasy (Audio CD)
Mexico is probably the last country one would turn to for the lastest in goth, EBM, and industrial music but there is a burgeoning goth/EBM/industrial scene in Mexico. Their latest export is the trio Amduscia. The band recently made their US debut with the excellent "From Abuse to Apostasy" via Metropolis Records (home to some of the biggest names in goth, EBM, and industrial music). Amduscia combines the pop melodies of trance and EBM with Polo's gruff vocals. It takes a few listens to get used to the Polo's unpolished vocals but the crisp melodic synth beats makes up for what is lacking in Polo's vocals. Polo's vocals is vaguely similar to Velvet Acid Christ's Bryan Erickson. All of the songs are sung in spanish but the energy in the music is invigorating. The energy never slows down. "From Abuse to Apostasy" is easily one of the best releases from Metropolis Records to come out this year. I look forward to hearing more from Amdusica.
