I found the book to be realistic. The fact that it was not polished made it more believable, this tells a story about a very courageous person coming out of the dark. She did not make it a pretty picture for her readers but denounced any such thing. And told the hard cold truth, unfortunately abuse is not a pretty picture and she did not sweeten it for her readers. I'm still praying that all will go well for her in the court system. It seems a little suspicious that it's taking so long to come to an end for her. She has set the stage for other people under this kind of abuse that seems to be hush-hush! Flying emotions did exist here but for good reason as it would be for anyone reliving a horrific story to be told. I recommend reading the book; it will change your life and cause you to want to reach out to others that are dealing with domestic violence of higher indifference.

ABUSED POLICE SPOUSE !,
By SAM MCFARLAND "SAM MCFARLAND" (PGH, PA, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Abuse Hidden Behind The Badge (Paperback)
This book is written in a gentle, first person, stream of consciousness format. It's much like sharing a cup of coffee with Rosaura, as she tells her horrific story as an abused police spouse.Rosaura also reveals fighting through depression, post traumatic shock, anxiety, motherhood and continues to fight the police and legal systems. Find out how police protect their own! Rosaura is a proud, tenacious fighter, an excellent mother and daughter. I literally could NOT put this book down. A definite MUST READ !

Emotionalism Sells, Reality is Hidden,
By Dr. Ronald K M Williams "revron" (Yeadon, PA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Abuse Hidden Behind The Badge (Paperback)
I, first, endorsed this book as a courageous story of one's experience with domestic violence. I admit I was overwhelmed by emotions. However, reality soon set in. One needs to ask why is it every court, police agency, and prosecutor's office have rejected her claims. Why are her alleged abusers now highly respected, high ranking, professional law enforcement officers? While this author is left peddling a poorly written, factually questionable, account of her life. I know we love stories of victims. We believe every woman who has a story of domestic violence. Reality is otherwise. In 2007, there were over one million false claims of domestic violence in the United States. I recently viewed a video of a woman on the Dr Phil show admitting she lied on her ex spouse.I have no doubt those driven by emotions will purchase and perhaps even celebrate this book. Those with a more rational mind will view it for what is is. I believe it a spiteful book written by a very angry person seeking vengeance in the only means she can.

Every person has a story to tell, some taking courage to share,

I have always said that everyone could (and should) write a book about their lives. Rosaura shares her journey through many years of domestic violence and questions why the very people paid to protect the City's citizens are the abusers with superiors and co-workers who cover up and turn a blind eye. Where promotions are more important than protecting the people they took an oath to protect. While this book is not a polished novel,it is her story and took a lot of courage to write. Rosaura's lawsuits are to achieve justice and accountability; her book is to spread the word that a woman can leave an abusive situation, find support and build a new life for herself. I am amazed that Rosaura even self-published her story. I am purchasing extra copies to donate to churches and women's shelters in the Delaware Valley.

Worst Book Ever!,
This review is from: Abuse Hidden Behind The Badge (Paperback)
As an avid reader of police books I find this book the worst book ever written. It is filled with errors, both in grammer and substance. It was difficult to follow and made no sense. Additionally, the author's main issue of domestic abuse angered me because she did not sound or behave in any way like a victim of domestic abuse. I find it shameful that she used this subject as her platform due to the serious nature of domestic violence. I lost track of all the lawsuits. Waste of money.
