The game is based on the film, The Abyss, directed by James Cameron. The game provides several immersive, sometimes very alien environments in which players must explore and solve puzzles. Starting in Deepcore, the undersea research vessel from the movie The Abyss, players set out on an adventure to an alien research facility and the caverns located in the farthest reaches of Jupiter's moon, Europa. Mutated alien and human life forms provide further challenges as players explore each world. The adventure experience is enhanced by the beautiful cinematic sequences, lush aural soundscapes, and a CD quality soundtrack. Incident at Europa takes place six years after the movie. The Deepcore station is now used as a kind of embassy to the NTIs (Non-terrestrial Intelligence). That huge ship we saw in the trench is referred to as the Ark. In the game, we will learn that the NTIs were busy in the midst of a terra-forming project on Jupiter's moon Europa, and accidentally unleashes a virus left by some mysterious alien race that mutates life. The virus is Intelligent, adaptable and predatory. They it brought to Earth. It was by accident but the results could be devastating. It has already infected the humans staffing Deepcore. When the surface world loses contact with Deepcore, Bud and Lindsey Brigman are sent down to investigate. Your mission, return to Deepcore, the NTI Ark and even alien research labs incredible distances away. You must find what causes the disease, what is it that they brought back? What is the cure?
