Review of the Abyss,
By Jillian Haberman (Houston, TX) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Abyss of Time: Changing Conceptions of the Earth's Antiquity After the Sixteenth Century (Hardcover)
As an armchair science lover, I found the Abyss of Time an eye opening book. It is not for the faint hearted to attempt because it does have a lot of fifty dollar words in it. But if you are looking for a really in depth look at how scientists through the ages developed the understanding and beliefs about the age of the earth and the processes that change it's surface this book is fascinating reading. I have read it again and again and still find it a good read. It is the history of the science of Geology basically.
