5.0 out of 5 stars very useful
If parents work with their children and ensure that they use the program, they can help them improve academically.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, dated, and ugly
This appears to be an old product repackaged as new. There are a series of presentations you access off the DVD. The resolution is low, production quality low, and there is limited interaction and quizzes.

I have some expectations that math software will be interactive, fun, and full of quizzes and problem solving. This was not at all what I was looking for...

I have some expectations that math software will be interactive, fun, and full of quizzes and problem solving. This was not at all what I was looking for to help with math instruction for my child. I would have been better off with math books and worksheets.

1.0 out of 5 stars Box of empty promises, March 6, 2010
This review is from: Academic Fitness Math Bootcamp (Weekly Reader) (DVD-ROM)
How I wish this product was anything like the box. There is NO ipod content- even if the box says so. There is NO parent updates-even if the box says so. The pdf files are dirty with ink smudges and words from other pages BUT the box is shiny and new. The other reviewer is right- it's an old program with a great box. It says grades 1-8 on the box BUT inside most things are for certain grades only. Let your kid play with the money you would have spent on this- They will learn more that way.

1.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely useless, August 2, 2010
This review is from: Academic Fitness Math Bootcamp (Weekly Reader) (DVD-ROM)
My father bought this software for my 10-year-old son, who is struggling with math. After installing and registering, I sat down with my son, intent on going through the lessons with him.

The very FIRST lesson we tried, Multiplication, turned out to be made by some software company not even listed on the box. When it came to the section where my son was supposed to input answers and press the "Check" button to see if he was right, the input boxes wouldn't work! The video simply paused for 30 seconds, and then the male voice pronounced, "Good job!"

Good job? My son hadn't even done anything yet.

I excused my son while I tried to figure out what was wrong. The "help" sections gave no clues as to why the input boxes weren't working. I myself tried to complete other lessons, with the same terrible results.

DO NOT BUY.
