For the Coffee Table, Not the Trail,

This review is from: Acadia National Park: Dayhiker's Guide: Maine's Coastal Gem (Dayhiker's Guides) (Paperback)
Some very pretty photographs festoon the pages of this slender volume. The text is nicely written, but its value as a trail guide is negligible due to the poor quality of the maps and vagueness of the directions. There are hikes listed here that don't appear on the maps at all and others which cannot be discerned from the topographies provided. Also many of the key hikes of the National Park are left out. It also seems that "difficult" in this guide means "moderate" because the authors avoided describing any of the truly rigorous trails of the park.
