I have often bemoaned the lack of Easter themed releases. In my mind, it should be just as big a holiday for Christians as Christmas is. There are some wonderful songs about this holiday that have been written and recorded, but I often long for them in one place. This CD works to fill in that gap. This CD features one new song and new arrangements of classic Easter songs. Naturally, some of these arrangements work better then others.

The CD opens with a new version of "Celebrate Jesus" that is so full of energy, it's easy to catch the mood of the CD. It then goes on to the classic "Easter Song" and a wonderful new arrangement of "Rise Again." This Dallas Holm classic has never sounded better then this more upbeat arrangement.

On the other hand, I was disappointed with the new arrangements of "Roll the Stone Away" and "He's Alive." The more urban flavor of both songs helps neither, in my opinion.

The CD also features classic hymns "Christ the Lord is Risen Today" and "He Arose."

I was only familiar with the song "Grave Robber" by name before getting this CD, but I really enjoy the arrangement presented here.

Rounding out the classic covers is "Arise My Love" which is presented in a version very faithful to its original.

The one new song was penned by long time member George Pendergrass. "If He had not Risen" discusses how the world would be different without Easter. Since this is one of my favorite things to consider as the holiday rolls around, I love this song. It ends with a wonderful narration by Gloria Gaither.

Being 10 years old this year, the CD is hard to find. But it is worth it to get this excellent collection of songs dedicated to one of the most important moments in human history.

singers are GREAT! and when I listened to ARISE MY LOVE, I just closed my eyes, cried, and saw the Lord rising... it was incredible, I've heard this song 200 times... and I still love it! What I find pretty sad is that Acapella is not releasing more titles... not new ones, not old ones... almost everything is out of stock, if they'd do release'em again, I'm sure I'm buying the whole collection!

This is one of the best Christian CD's available. A must hear is Acappella's cover of "Arise My Love".

listen to the examples carefully, this is not a cd of music with only human voice. Not what i expected. disappointing.

I love this CD - it's perfect for Easter or any time of the year, and is very inspirational. Acappella is so talented, and they include some new takes on classic hymns as well as some covers of more modern Christian songs. I can't review this CD highly enough!

I have their stuff in cassette form and the heat in the car has damaged many and friends have borrowed and not returned. I love everthing they do and I want it all on cd's now. Having hard time finding it. I am so lifted by this form of praise and worship.
