Not leather, but good quality, looks very nice.

I needed a case for my new bottom of the line Kindle (79 bucks), and the ones available in my local stores cost about half as much as the kindle itself.

This case looks nice, fits perfect and does it's job of protecting my Kindle.

This case rates a perfect 5 stars for meeting my criteria in a case for my new Kindle Classic (the tiny new $79 model). See below for use with my Kindle Touch (that just arrived today).

My 5 priorities for a Kindle Classic Case were:

1. Economical - Paying $40 for a case makes perfect sense for my $600 iPad2, but is nuts for an $80 reader.

2. Compact and Lightweight - one of the core benefits of the new Kindle or Touch is the light weight and small size that lets me take it anywhere without hassles. A bulky thick case defeats the purpose.

3. Flexible binding - I need to be able to bend the cover behind the kindle so I can read with one hand.

4. Not cheap looking or feeling - Workmanship should be ok, and if it looks and feels like leather that's a bonus.

5. Protects the screen from scratches and the Kindle from drops.

The Acase rates a perfect 5 for 5. I got it for about half what I thought I would have to spend. It is as lightweight as it could be and still protects the Kindle.

The binding folds easily backwards, and I can fold the soft magnetic clasp back too. Workmanship is great, and it appears to be soft suede inside, and soft leather outside. I believe it really is leather, it just doesn't smell as much like a new pair of shoes as some other case I have. It is close enough that I can't tell, and looks and feels classy.

Finally, the magnetic clasp holds tight, and the clamps and elastic on the inside fit my Kindle 4 perfectly without interfering with any functions. Perfect for me.

NOTE on this ACASE and the KINDLE TOUCH: I just got in my Kindle Touch today (a gift for a friend).

Awesome cover. I researched quite a few looking for one that would work for my 13 year old son. I wanted the Kindle to be safe (it is very secure in it's straps, no slipping out); to be inexpensive, and to be cool. Of course that's a relative term, but I didn't want to buy him some stuffy black case. I heard a lot of people didn't care for the bright green color, but I think it looks like it's picture; as an added bonus he can find it in his room (and for those of you that have been 13 or have a 13 year old, you know what a blessing it is to find anything in there). The texture of it feels nice, not cheap, and I like the soft inside. The pocket is handy for a cleaning cloth and his library card (mine does not have a pocket b/c I thought I wouldn't use it; I was wrong - it's very handy!). It's also very light weight.

All in all I highly recommend this.

I just received this cover and I have to say knowing that it was a $10 cover I was very skeptical about the quality, and how it was going to look. I was wrong about that. It actually looks better than the $30 one my wife bought for herself.
The case holds the Kindle (not the touch or one with the keyboard as the ad states very clearly and many of the lower starred reviews complain about)securly so no worries about it slipping. I haven't really given it my regualar use and torture test, but from what I'm seeing of it, and the little bit of use it's gotten I think this cover is going to work out very well.

It was cheap, light, easy to use,and functional. Besides that i liked it. Go ahead and spend a lot more for an over priced cover. Just remember its about the books.

This case is not leather, which is WHY it costs 1/3 of the price of the genuine leather covers.

I bought this case in orange in January and I am still using it and like it. I would give it 5 stars, but the "Leather" statement is false. It should get even fewer stars for being blatantly misleading, but it's a good, well-made case for the price.

It looks like leather with a casual glance or at a distance. It does not *feel* like leather or look like leather upon close examination. The inside is a gray sueded fabric. I had a pair of shoes made out of sueded fabric once and I liked them quite a bit.

Go ahead and buy this if it does not matter you if the smell of leather is absent or if the pebbling is extremely uniform. With real leather, there are flaws where the cow had the occasional insect bite that scarred the skin of the animal. And you can scratch leather permanently if you scrape hard with your fingernail. That doesn't happen with this case, since it's not leather.

So if you just want a nice case at a good price, I highly recommend it. After 6 months, mine has protected my Kindle from falls, oils from hands, and scratches. It's lightweight and the color is a classy muted orange. THe elastic bands hole the Kindle snugly in place, and the stitching is flawless.

Comforable in hand. Protective of kindle. I know-mine fell off the bed onto the floor and is fine. Good to have. I'm happy with it, that's all that matters.

Because of the low price I wasn't expecting a lot, but this does the job and I believe it's a good value.

I searched all over the place for a cover for my Kindle and finally found it on Amazon of all places. Priced reasonably with free shipping with Amazon Prime. Love this because I can fold it open and the magnet clip holds the cover in place while I'm reading. Fits my new Kindle perfectly. Side pocket holds paper for notes or lists.
