4.0 out of 5 stars Great case for the money December 27, 2011

I purchased this case as a gift and found it to be a great value for the price. I would recommend this for a Kindle Fire user who plans to primarily use their device at home and will not be too rough with it. If you plan to carry your Kindle Fire around with you, you may want something more rugged.

2.0 out of 5 stars On second thought... March 8, 2012

Now that I have the case in hand, I have to say I'm a bit disappointed.

The brackets that hold the kindle in place don't feel that I have total security. It feels that someday they could give or loosen up and lose their grip. I could be wrong but I know I will always be double checking that. The brackets and the bumpers on the inside flap used to prop it up couple together prevent the front flap from shutting snug and flush with the kindle face. I would rather have one that is nice and flat. I feel like all the dustbunnies in my purse are going to end up inside the case with the kindle. It doesn't look that way in the photos so this is misleading. I keep feeling like it's not quite shut all the way.

It also doesn't have a place to put my stylus (yes, I use a stylus!). What I thought was a loop for it is just the weird bracket that snaps it shut. It's just weird, it doesn't seem to, I don't know.....*fit* it right. I wish I bought one with the leather frames you can slide it into and also one with pockets and a stylus holder.

I'd say if you plan on really using this thing, carrying it everywhere and for business, this isn't really ideal. If you're just using it for a about town companion then it'll do.
Oh well!

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Good But... December 24, 2011

After researching cover / stands on amazon thuroughly I decided on this one and I m glad I did. All the high rated reviews proved to be true. The only draw back I see is that to use the stand you have to un-clip it from two of the clips.

I recently purchased a Kindle Fire for my grandson and I wanted to get him a case to protect it. I was familiar with Acase and I wanted to get a nice case but not spend a fortune for it. I ordered this from Amazon and when I got it I just loved it. It is made of beautiful leather and has a soft microfiber liner to protect the Kindle Fire. I have included a small video of the case and its features and I hope the video is useful for you.

It is a slim fit case and it provides a nice firm gripping surface to carry the tablet with. It features three levels of tilting to allow you to watch a movie, read a book or type on the screen. Each corner of the Kindle is protected from falls with a corner protection edge. It has a nice cover that flips over the Kindle Fire screen and latches closed.

For the value and quality this is the best buy for a Kindle Fire case on the web. I am very happy with the purchase and I recommend it to you as a very good product.

2.0 out of 5 stars This isn't what I received January 3, 2013

What I received was totally different than the picture. The flexible parts that are supposed to help it stand are actually on the part that the Kindle snaps into so it can't stand. Also, there is no strap to put your hand in to hold it. What I received is essentially just a folio case with no added features.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice case for the money if a bit plain February 7, 2013

The case feels like it will help protect the device if dropped while the case is closed The plastic clips are located at all 4 corners when closed helping to provide protection. I can see the catch, a another piece of plastic, wearing out over time and needing something more to keep it closed. Same with the two plastic clips you have to pull the device out of every time you want to use the case as a stand. Since I have a special pocket in my current purse for the kindle, having things slide down the channels that are there for when case is used as a stand is not an issue for me, but for others these might become an issue as small items like nail files and paperclips could slide inside the case while closed. The case does not fit flat against the screen especially where the channels are. The channels are thicker than the padding on the rest of the front of the case making the non channeled section stand away from the screen when closed. I use my kindle for reading and playing games when I'm waiting at the doctors and for listening to music when driving or when sewing. If I were using this case as heavily as I used my palm pilot when I was working, i.e. all the time, this case may not have been the best choice. But for the money, when this one wears out, it won't be a great loss. Though that looks like at least a year down the road. The case itself has to bend in the middle of the back when you use it as a stand and this is where I suspect the first major signs of wear will show. From the pictures it looked like you could use the kindle in a portrait position, but the kindle just rests in channels to stay standing, there is nothing that actually keeps the kindle held into the channel if you turned it to portrait mode.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not flashy, but totally useful! January 20, 2012

When I bought my Kindle, I purchased this case along side the Vipertek version. I love the Acase!

Although the Vipertek was a couple of $$ less, I sent it back. The number one reason I kept the Acase was because it came with padding that felt like it would be better protection for the screen. The Vipertek had virtually no padding - although it was almost identical in every other way.

The Acase was a wonderful accessory to my Kindle on a recent trip - the whole reason I purchased the Kindle Fire.

The stand is very easy to use and was wonderfully helpful anytime I got tired of holding the Fire. It was great reading on the plane as well as I could read while the Fire was in its stand...and I didn't have to put my drink down! LOL.

I used the stand "feature" to place the Fire when I was reading or listening to music at the pool or watching videos in bed. When you're reclining in bed or on the couch, the stand is incredibly helpful so that you can easily put it in viewing distance in a stable position. Also if your stomach and breasts are big enough you could also just rest the stand there if you're tired of holding the device. My stomach isn't huge...but it worked. :-) The stand "feature" has two positions to accomodate differnt viewing angles as well.

Closing the case when I needed to put the device away was also very easy and it just felt protective...something I felt was totally worth the $13.00 for a $200.00 device!

The material and composition feel solid, and the black is well, black - so nothing flashy or fancy, but it serves its purpose wonderfully.
