DJ Dan never grabbed my attention until I saw him live with Donald Glaude at the Quest in Minneapolis. DJ Dan has a real care free and loose, but very energetic style.

He does a great job of giving you the feeling you get at his live shows on CD. I feel this is actually DJ Dan's most well rounded CD as far as track picks go. All of his previous albums are great, but there is always those few tracks that either run on too long or I have to skip altogether. The tracks on this CD run together smooth like butter. No tracks literally jump out as standout tracks compared to his other albums. This is just a smooth, fun, and even mix where all the tracks hold each other together very well.

Also there is a second disc of goodies. Although the first disc is worth the price alone, the second disc is good for both long time and new fans alike. Long time Dan fans can hear rarities and B-sides they may not have heard unless they bought them on wax (which I did). New fans will get to hear several remixes of "That Zipper Track" from the "golden years" of DJ Dan. Many have already heard that song hammered to death on several compilations or mixes. It's cool to take a look back at the song that helped Dan become the forefront of DJ's all over the world. The second disc does not leave much desire for repeat listening. In fact most will only listen to that disc once or maybe twice before the novelty wears off. The true value goes into the repeat listening value of CD 1.

Overall DJ Dan puts the petal to the metal on "Accelerate." He keeps it hard and keeps it funky. This CD gives me energy and leaves me feeling happy. I listen to it to get pumped up for sales in the morning when I am battling rush hour to work. I would recommend this to fellow funky house junkies or anyone who enjoys upbeat, feel good, care free music.

If you want to hear some of dan's more funkiest stuff, well you better jump on this cd...its fast, its fun, and really sets the mood for any fun night...the disco-ish basslines are crazy good, and mesh so well with eachother..his mixes are again flawless, and signature DJ DAN. The bonus CD is great, as the unreleased tracks are the FULL CLUB VERSION, enabling DJs to actually use the CD to play some rare grooves. Dont even think twice...just click on add to cart!!!!

Simply.... unbelievable... DJ Dan at his absolute best. For people who love to groove nothing can compare to his beats.... this is the type of record you put on and the smiles just keep coming.

Accelerate blows away Dan's last cd recorded at Ruby Skye, "Mixed Live", every song on this cd is on hit, high enegy peak time dance music. This cd takes off from the beginning unlike "Mixed Live" which starts out really slow and doesnt get going until the 6th track. Every track on Accelerate is slamming and as always Dan provides superior mixing skills. Once again Dan does not dissappoint. Another one of DJ Dan's great CD's with an excellent mix of electro funk and upbeat House in this 2 CD set. Don't pass this up if you're into electronic music, DJ Dan will keep you're ear to the speaker the entire time. Dan has a way of telling a story through his mixes and you'll be happy you picked it up.

As you read this please keep in mind that I am the type of person that likes Funk House, Disco House and Old House. Any type of house that gets you moving!

If your into the same type of house that I am then this CD probably would not be the best choice for you. I own just about every DJ Dan CD and mix tape and this CD is in my opinion not his best work.

From the start the the cd just jumps around to much with in each track. It reminded me a lot of a slow Bad Boy Bill. The track selection were good but failed to get me moving and were just lacking something. I purchased this CD because I am a big time supporter of DJ Dan and his awsome work. YOU ROCK DAN!

If you really want to see what DJ Dan is all about then you should pick up either "Funk The System" or "Mixed Live". Hell why not both?! Both CDs track selection get you movin N groovin!

Dan injects his tradmeark skills and causes serious ' Needle Damage ' on his latest release. It's Funky, It's Bumpin, It's straight-up House at it's peak. Unlike desperate followers and duplicators such as Bad Boy Bill, Dan seperates himself with originality with a unique sound, that no other can match. He's dubbed and titled as " America's Most Beloved DJ " ya better believe it, Pick up this gem and enjoy another classic from the DJ Dan

Let me start by saying this CD is complete upfront DAN. Dan is and will always be an institution in US dance music.

Some of the reviewers on here however seem to be from some company that either markets or distributes the CD. Just let the music speak, I hate reading reviews and feeling like I'm being sold something.
