This is the right stuff for selling. Well organizer, very readable with good sidebars from in the field. This is a short pithy collection of best practices in sales at every stage of your development. I always find something useful in every sales book and this one is chock full of great ideas, statements and responses. Worth reading all of it and then keep it as a reference. You will use it.

Accelerate the Sale looks at sales from every angle and the author offers some great advice along the way. Most of the analogies are to Harley's or fast cars, so if you are a salesmen and enjoy roaring engines as well, this is definitely the book for you.

Pros:

* Solid advice

* Some chapters are very practical and hands on, more so then most books on sales

* Good overview of almost every aspect of selling

Cons:

* Very wide, but does not go very deep in any one area

* Nothing earth-shattering here. The analogies and stories are fresh and the material is arranged well, but if you have read a few sales books before then this will not have any new information.

* A lot of the advice was tailored for those in retail. Though the author included some other examples, they felt like late additions, not integral to the text.

Overall, this is a good book that offers solid sales advice. Pick it up if you are looking for a general overview on how to sell product in your place of business.

I've taken his training courses, followed his column in Motorcycle Product News, and his web site PeakDealershipPerformance.com. This book is typical Mark Rodgers....Always informative, always innovative, and always FUN! This book is for the Sales Professional that wants a new, practical, and common sense sales approach that will work for any product and service. If you want to succeed in the sales profession buy the book, put it into practice, and get your hands on anything you can with Mark Rodgers name on it....I did, I do, and I have succeeded. Accelerate The Sale is one of the first real practical sales books I have read in a long time. Mark Rodgers is an entertaining author and speaker. He is someone I have followed over the past several years. If you have not had a chance to hear him speak, you should purchase this book immediately. Clearly Mark has a lot of analogies tied to the motorcycle industry, however, the techniques and ideas are easily tied to any industry. I took detailed notes throughout the book and I am in the process of implementing some great processes. Buy the book, read it, apply it.

This is one of the best sales books I have ever read!

The book is well organized and easy to read. It has a wonderful balance of fact, research, strategy, self help and humor.

In these challenging economic times, a book like this is right on the mark. Every business needs to have a "tune up" in order to be more efficient as the cost of new business acquisition skyrockets! Accellerate The Sale gets you on track.

Whether you are a buyer or a seller this book contains great advice for everyone that relies upon interpersonal relationships to do business.
