Poorly organized, found other sources,

This review is from: Accelerated MCSE Study Guide IIS 4.0 (Exam 70-087) (Paperback)
I feel this book has most of the information, but it was very cluttered and difficult to follow. This was not a very impressive resource. I used the Sybex book, which has a lot of basic garbage, but had the info I needed in an easy to follow format. I suggest checking out the New Riders Fast Track books for a condensed guide, as they are the best.

Best book out there, but not enough for exam.,

I do recommend this book; but just to learn iis 4, not to pass the exam. This exam is the most difficult of the six. Get this book to give you an overview of iis. Get the braindumps to pass the exam.

Too much cut out of this pocket guide.,

This book would make an excellent IIS quick reference, but lacks some key elements to deserve its MCSE name. Having finished my MCSE, I am accustomed to these types of books having bullet points for the major items of interest (aka two minute drills), summaries of the chapter to drive home material, and a few sample questions. This is not a MCSE book.

Just enough to pass the exam!,

This review is from: Accelerated MCSE Study Guide IIS 4.0 (Exam 70-087) (Paperback)
I found this book very clear and well organized. I did not have any experience on the product and I passed the exam. The screens are very well detailed and explained. I agree, this is not an 'in-depth' book, and the most advanced topics are not well covered, but for me it was just enough. I strongly recommend it.

A good book but not the only book for taking the IIS 4 Exam,

I like this book since it gives you the details in a straightforward fashion but I don't recommend it to be the only source in taking the IIS 4.0 Exam. It doesn't have the practice exam sheets you can find in other books. It also doesn't discuss ODBC errors and integration of this service with other NT domains.

Clear, but too simple,

This book is very good for someone with no prior knowledge of the subject. All the basic things are well explained. However I feel that there is a material not covered. I will have to turn to other sources before taking the test.

Packed with the stuff on the exam!,

This is an EXCELLENT study guide, other guides should learn from Tulloch about the best way to create a study guide. It is so packed with relevant information that I did not highlight the book because the entire book would have been highlighted from page 1 to about page 200. There are a few weak places, but in most cases the author directs you to exactly where to find the missing info (Technet, IIS 4 Resource Kit, etc.). The weakest area was the Advanced Topics where the subject matter is so broad that the author suggests that you rely on experience :-( , and his coverage on that chapter he admits is only cursory. But take heart! This book, with Brain Dump Heaven and exam tests are all you need if you have already taken TCP/IP. I passed and I am now MCSE, thanks to Mitch Tulloch. Not one instructor at my ATEC school has passed this exam, so I am very excited. I would also recommend his complete reference book. I have not read it, but if it fills the gaps on this study guide, it will be a resource to use for years.

The book was very clear and to the point. Took you through IIS and explained many points the official courseware glossed over. Highly recommended.

A decent book only to become acquainted with IIS 4,

This review is from: Accelerated MCSE Study Guide IIS 4.0 (Exam 70-087) (Paperback)
While it serves as a good overview of IIS4, it is not enough to pass the exam for most people. Even though, I had no experience with IIS4, the book seemed overly simple. It want step-by-step covering each area of IIS's properties. The book lacked the kind of information that was covered on the actual exam.

Pretty Good IIS4.0 Prep Tool,

This is one of the better books to help prepare for the 70-87 exam;however, this book should be used to compliment other materials i.e ATEC study materials rather than the only book needed to pass the exam...at this time, it is difficult to find one book that will completely cover this topic...the quick notes on things to remember for the exam are good and the reference to the SQL errors in the back of the book were very useful as the actual exam has 3-4 questions regarding SQL error messages and no other book I reviewed had any mention of these error messages.
