I had been interested in Steve Halpern's "stuff" for a long time. So finally I bit the bullet and bought "Accelerated Learning." WOW what a difference. I am a college student who is currently premed and psychology...double major. This tape allows me to sit at my desk, relaxed, stress-free and completely willing, happy, and open to studying. Now, I do not know if any of you remember your college days, but I can guarantee you, "stress free" was not one of the qualities. I even used it on my mom who is also premed. Only I didnt tell her what this tape was. Instead I played it during her study time and about 30 minutes into the cd she says "wow, I cant believe how easy this chemistry is coming to me. I have had so much struggle, what gives?" And thats when I told her. We are hooked on this tape. Any student, whether young or old must buy this CD.

I bought this CD to play in my high school classroom as my students tested. However, the ad did not say that the CD contains subliminal messages. Luckily, the messages are listed in the cover pages, and they all relate to self esteem and learning. I told my kids what was going on with the messages, and they were excited to try it out. Many students really enjoyed it. I liked the music as I was working on my planning period. It was soothing and it didn't take my focus from my work.

I play this CD while working in my home office. I find that the music is not distracting and actually enhances my ability to concentrate and stay focused.

I play this CD a lot in my elementary classroom. The students stay focused on their writing while this CD is on. I also use it at home to keep me "on task" while grading papers or doing some other task that requires focus.

Most of the cd sounded like a little kid was playing freely on a little piano/keyboard and then the sound was stretched and made more etheric with a lite angelic chorus in the background. There was one track that sounded as a soft flute or wind instrument of some sort. I was unable to listen to the samples before I purchased the CD but I was not disappointed when I heard it. The CD actually has two versions one has subliminal messages and the other doesn't. The subliminal messages which I did purchase was about three subjects mostly... relaxation, learning, and being able to study better by listening to the music. I wasn't sure why they actually put the music part in there, but then again I don't understand subliminal messages much. The Album alternates between being random yet flowing music to having some sort of direction. The music is a little high pitched so it was enjoyable for me to listen to for about an hour before it started wearing on the ears, but for the most part it is enjoyable.

I started carrying this CD with me - every time I go into a computer lab to work, I pop it in, pull out my headphones - it's one of the best tools I've found for effective concentration.

I found the music to be irritating - sharp pitched notes would disrupt my chain of thought. Perhaps if I played it quietly it wouldn't be as bad, but I need white noise to cover other people's noise (vacume cleaner, loud TV, etc). All in all, a waste of money, since I have other programing to listen to when I'm not studying. I'll stick to Kelly Howell (Deep Learning), Brainwave Mind Voyages (Subliminal Learning Genius), Global Hypnosis (Super Learning, Malibu Hypnosis (Study Smart Study Longer Self Hypnosis Sound Therapy), and Dr. Rick Collingwood (Super Study [Volume Sixteen]) - Sorry, Amazon dosn't make product links for mp3.

I expected to hear music that would help me stay focused and concentrate while reading (as the other reviews state will happen) but I didn't notice much difference, and some of the titles were hard to listen to - annoying actually. Definitely not the resource I'd hoped it would be after reading the other reviews.

This is the BEST learning aid that I have ever purchased. This CD really does assist the listener with his/her "focus/attention span." I initially purchased this product to use for two of my professional exams. Studying became way more efficient because I was that much more attentive. I now play this CD at work and find that I am significantly more productive. I recomment this product to students and professionals alike.

Still using every night, music is very relaxing.
