5.0 out of 5 stars Rozz's sheer brilliance w/ David E, at Dark Harvest...., August 14, 2004

This review is from: Accept the Gift of Sin (Audio CD)
An infamous performance indeed, due to Rozz's " employment of a cetain prop " during " Tommorrow Belongs to Me " from " Cabraret " [ which caused the set to be cut short by the promoter}....but this is an excellent album; probably ties as best live Rozz album with Shadow Project's " In Tuned Out "...the electro-symphoni reworkings of " Cavity " and " When I was Bed " are wonderful dark and beautiful, the latter almost having a John Carpenter feel to the synths; this version is supior to the " Ashes " version. " Tomorrow belongs to Me " from Cabraret " is a great cover; those who appreciate Rozz's original material in the vein of " Lament" , " This Mirage ", and

" A World Apart " will appreciate this. " Beautiful Brown Shirted Man" is a short tune in a similar vein written by david E. Williams on keys which, how shall we say, isn't afraid to discuss a a racey politcally incorrect sexual encounter...

Rozz, who's vocals, have never been more emotional, dips into pop territory with 10cc's " I'm Not In Love " a VERY moving song; I'm not familar with the orignal but i really love this version. And a great quirky pop turn with a Mama Cass tune " Dream a Little Dream of Me" with some saxophone being dropped into the mix. Rozz was picking songs HE wanted to sing as the liner notes in the CD sleeve indicate, and the results are simply magical.

The set ends with an even more sinister and horrific rendition of Rozz's spoken word/ industrial-noise piece " Mindf__k [Soundtrack to a Murder "} than the original , the arrangement behind the vocals better than the studio version and rozz's vocals even more powerful and intense! [ and that's saying a lot because the studio version is a masterpiece! }

In short, if you're a fan or ROZZ WILLIAMS, not merely Christian Death, get this album as soon as you read this! A wonderful dedication to one the greatest singers/poets/artists that ever lived. Rozz Wiliams RIP.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rozz may be dead but is alive on this album., February 26, 2003

This is a great example of the poet, musician, and artist that Rozz Williams is. I bought this cd the day that it was released(today) and cannot stop listening to it. The versions of Cavity and when I was bed are great reminders of Christian Death. Buyer Beware if you are only a fan of Christian Death and not of Rozz himself then you may not like this album, But i would recomend it to anyone. Very Beautiful Work.
R.I.P. Rozz

well this recording has been a long time coming and i must admit a little disappointment at not hearing the rediculous banter that also took part at the abrupt end of the live performance from when this took place. unfortunately, it is because of a lack of acknowledging all of our 1st amendment rights that many other unusual renditions of various songs includine a rare live "romeo's distress" were never performed and thus do not appear on this disc.
recorded at a rare live performance between local philadelphia, pa native david e. williams and mister rozz williams himself. actually performed by the usual david e. williams live collective with rozz on vocal duties of course. the show was a treat and so is finally having the music to listen to all these years later.
a testament to the variables which rozz threw at his fans and why many were never bored keeping up with his latest projects.
a fresh look back on rozz and his amazing voice in music.
