I highly recommend this book for anyone having difficulty with SQL as a programming language in the business world. Dr. Pindar writes in a clear and precise manner. The book is for those that love Access 2007 but need to write SQL scripts for their job. One of the reviewer wrote that this book was a waste of time. I found this to be inaccurate. SQL is a simple programming language and strict adherance to syntax and puncuation is required for success.

"One of the better books on SQL I have read. It doesn't try to teach you how to write a database. It's more of a useful reference guide. It shows you how to get your data to do what you want it to do, as well as how this is best achieved in any business application you may need to manage or implement changes to.

I use much older version of Access at work and the author also provides the sample database compatible with my Access 2003 (It's important for me as I need the older version Access file to practice the book's SQL syntax).

Another amazing thing is the author answers your email! (When you go to the book's website, you get the author's email and that's how I got the book's sampledata in Access 2003 format)

The book is a well written guide to using the SQL language to build databases and manipulate data in Access 2007. The author explains not only the syntax of how to manipulate the data but also gives insights and examples as to how the manipulations are useful from a business perspective. I think the book is a great resource for anyone using SQL in Access 2007.

This is exactly the reference I was looking for. It is well organized by an author that clearly understands SQL and knows how to instruct SQL students. It is a terrific reference for MS Access SQL, with simple yet complete examples. I get what I need from this book without any fluff or B.S. Really a terrific SQL reference book. Well done!

This book provides a great introduction to SQL, with clear examples and an easy to read text.

As one of the few Access users in my department who actually has to create databases, not just use them, I find this book to be a great resource. Since I don't have a computer science background, I particularly appreciate the way the book presents solutions for programmers and for business users. As a business user, I need the explanation of the problem, the solution, and an example that I can use, and this book provides them. It is one of my top resources.

This guy knows how to pass on knowledge even on difficult topics. I always had trouble with many relationships, referential integrity,

and cascades. In this book these topics were made to seem easy and the cool thing is that he explains them from a technical and business point of view so that one knows how to apply them.

What is amazing in this book is its organized approach in 30 chapters. Definitely, the author took his time writing it. Every topic is covered both in breadth and in depth to the point that even a novice can arrive at a professional level very quickly. I can really find the answers to my questions fast and efficiently with its two tables of contents. This is the first time I have seen two tables of contents in a book. Definitely a strong if not the strongest companion to anyone using Microsoft Access.
