I bought this book a year ago and never used it. After taking a class in Access and using it at work I found answers to problems that neither my teacher nor Access "Help" could answer. The format is short and sweet. It is truly for every user, beginner and advanced!

I borrowed this book from the public library and found it so helpful for a work related project that I renewed it. I continued to use it as a resource tool and decided I needed to purchase it. It is written in plain language and will prove to helpful to all users, regardless of ones level of experience with Access. Since the book is organized in a series of support questions, I found it easy to locate the answer to any questions I had. A great value and an excellent resource.

Best way to find answers FAST!,

Access 97 Answers! paid for itself the first day I bought it. If you're stuck and need an answer, this book probably has it AND (most importantly) the answers are easy to find. To help you quickly locate an answer there's a "Contents @ a Glance" page, a detailed Table of Contents, a very comprehensive index, and a self termed "Action Index" which lists questions in an "If you want to..." format. This book is a FAQ to end all FAQs. It's become an indespensible tool in my Access development arsenal.

I ordered about 5 different Access books and This is the one i regulary refer to. You want to know how to do something (non-beginner) then BUY THIS BOOK!!!! Now only if they made a new one I'd be unstoppable!!!

I purchased the book based on it's description and the 3 customer reviews. I was very disappointed in what arrived. The book was very basic - VERY, VERY basic. I've only been doing database work in Access 97 (or any other database for that matter) for five weeks. 95% of this book is information I already have learned just from working my way through Access and the on-screen help button. It was inexpensive, but I am still wondering if I will every get my monies worth of information from it. It bills itself as "less than the price of one support call!" Unless people with the most basic of basic questions call for support, this clearly is a case of you get what you pay for.

Good quick reference for the beginner as well as the more advanced user. A lot of good suggestions as to how to handle many types of "knotty" little problems which the advanced books don't seem to address as easily or as succinctly. Many "work-arounds" which both save a lot of time and require no programming at all.

This book is like chatting with a guru who tells you all sorts of tips and tricks. Just reading through the sections gives you ideas and possibilities that you will refer back to. The question and answer format makes learning far more efficient than reading help files. I will be looking for more Answers! books.

I had the same series of Access 2 before. When this new edition released I got it right away.This is an excellent Q&A book to give you quick and direct answer of your question of Access 97/95. (Some of the answer may not compatible with Access 2). Most of the books from the shelves has all the information from the ground up. To use this book well, the user has to know the foundmental of Access 97/95. For example, know how to build tables, queries, froms and reports. At least have a little bit experience and then use this book as a good quick instruction. This book is not for whom wants to learn from the beginning. It doesn't have those information and exercise examples. If you are new to Access, get other books and get this one later. If you have this book already, use it with the MS Knowledge Base and some discussion group well solve most of your problems. |
