5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book for serious programming, NOT for beginners, February 8, 2000
This review is from: Access 97 Power Programming (3rd Edition) (Paperback)
The code in this book and that supplied on the CD was marvelous at helping me solve some serious problems and questions I had in a major database last year. I found it easy to understand and it was real life! Not something simple that no one can use.

I also emailed the author with a comment and received a reply within 2 days! I was impressed to say the least.

I teach VB And Access classes and tell all my advanced Access students (and those in VB that use Access) to get this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely not for beginners, June 21, 1999
This review is from: Access 97 Power Programming (3rd Edition) (Paperback)
I have read and used the book, and it is what it claims to be- Power Programming. It is definetely not for the beginners and also not for new "intermediates". The author takes the reader from the day-to-day realities of this world into an immense ocean of real programming and shows how an application be finalized. Some information (such as moving to client/server mode) is presented in a very elegant way. My thanks go to both the author and the publishers.

5.0 out of 5 stars a book lives up to its title, May 4, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Access 97 Power Programming (3rd Edition) (Paperback)
I really like this book because it's so right down to the point, very effective and accurate, and easy to read. There are too many Access books out there are either too big or spend too much time to cover as much various level of audience as they can. This book is not very comprehensive in that sense and it does not cover a lot of basic (but necessary) materials for beginners. But for what it covers, it covers so well. I would not recommend it as your first (and only) Access book (for above reason). But for those who want to reach out beyond the basics, it's an excellent book to own.
