blow off the cobwebs!!!,

This review is from: Access: D (Audio CD)
Tell you what, you need the religious cobwebs blown off you? Sick and tired of lifelessly sung hymns and wanna feel free? Then whack this in your cd player, turn the volume way up and let delirious lead you in praise and worship. Honestly, I was a hymn-listening presbyterian(Not that there's anything wrong with that) until these guys set me free!! Great songs, passionate and God-centred lyrics, killer rifts, screaming guitars, bring it on!! And remember God looks at the heart, and these gentleman are filled with passion for there Lord, this cd is full of emotion and that's a good thing!

This CD is A-W-E-S-O-M-E. If you ever feel like getting psyched to worship the King of kings then buy this! A lot of the songs are available on other albums but these are the best live versions recorded. BUY IT and get WORSHIPPING!!!!

I would have to say that this CD comes about as close as possible to being at their concert without being there. The first CD in this double-CD offering is pure magic. The second CD has some missteps (for me that is) and mostly those are the songs from AudioLessonover, but it ends really strong. Highlights for me have to be the live versions of 'History Maker' and 'Hang on to You'.

I cried the first time I heard this version of "Jesus' Blood". I'd never done that before. Buy this album.

Just like a band that they are sometimes compared to, U2, many live version of Delirious songs are better than the original album version. If you think of songs such as "Did you feel the mountains tremble" and "I am not ashamed", the live versions of these songs are more powerful and moving than those found on Cutting Edge. Thus, this album marks the bands intent to give their fans more live renditions of their latest material. Obviously, Access is not the first live Delirious, but like the others it is a quality effort. The songs included on this 2 CD release come mainly from more recently released material (Touch and Glo). Some of the tracks that really stand out are "Jesus Blood", "God's Romance", "Take Me Away", "Everything", and "Show Me Heaven". As far as songs that I do not care for there are a few and include "Fire", "Follow" and "King of Fools". Also, a few songs like "I could sing of your love forever" and "Happy Song" have been updated. The update to "I could sing..." is pretty good. Others may like the new, harder version of Happy Song, although I do not care much for it which is no surprise since I was not a big fan of the original. Lastly, just like on Live and In the Can, the band includes numerous worship outtakes between songs. Personally, I like this snipnets, although they do not add much to the feel of this album. If you are a Delirious fan, you will like this album and should add it to your collection. Especially if you have enjoyed earlier live releases by the band. If you are not a big fan of Delirious' last album, you may want to give this album a listen since some of the songs (like the ones mentioned above) are improved with this release.

A great double live cd set!,

This is an amazing double-cd live set. While most of the showcased songs are from the "Touch" cd (or "Audio Lessonover" in the UK), there are a few from their other cds. Two songs are remade ("I Could Sing of Your Love Forever" and "Happy Song") and they both benefit from it - especially "Happy Song" which loses it's rockabilly original sound for rock. All in all, this is good, though I miss the more straightforward worship songs like we got from "Live and In the Can" - but I guess you wouldn't want them to just rerecord all the old ones, would you? "Fire" benefits from the live treatment, and Stu gets behind the mic himself for an acoustic rendition of "King of Fools", but "Show Me Heaven" sounds a little like the audience reaction may have been put in later (listen and you'll see what I mean). A great double cd and I highly recommend it!

You can put these CDs in and let it go. There really isn't any song that is unbearable to listen to, as is the case with most of Delirious stuff. I really enjoy the version of King of Fools.
