These U.S. Access Board design guidelines cover access for people with disabilities under the landmark ADA of 1990. They update access requirements for facilities in the public and private sectors covered by the law and guarantee that buildings accomodate citizens with disabilities. This update also revises guidelines for federal buildings under the Architectural Barriers Act (ABA) of 1968. The ABA requires access to facilities designed, built, altered, or leased with federal funds. These guidelines serve as an accessibility baseline for the ADA and the ABA.
