A Review by Sarah

This book was about some teenagers who were drinking one night at a party and got into a car and disaster struck. Most of them were killed but miraculously one teenager survived. There was one kid that didn?t get in the car that was at the party, and his name is Matt. Matt knows something is going on about the accident that the police aren?t telling him, so he starts to investigate. People of the neighborhood are automatically assuming that the driver of the accident was a guy that always gets blamed for bad things and Matt wants to think differently. Matt searches for the missing piece.

One thing that I didn?t like about this book is the title. It?s very plain and not exciting at all. This book deserves a more exciting and grabbing catch title for the good read that it has. Also, I loved how Todd Strasser put this book together. It had a good meaning to it and it explains that this is a normal type of accident that happens in life a lot around the world. It describes how drastic accidents like this really are. Lastly, I liked how the scenes were unexpected. I didn?t even suspect what was going to happen next. It kept me on a suspense that made me wasn?t to keep me reading.

I recommend this book to teens that have drank alcohol before or even have had thought about it. It could help them change there mind about the situation and save there own o and everybody else?s lives. It?s a good lesson to learn and this book teaches it well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Friends drinking & driving next thing there's an accident., June 16, 1999

This review is from: Accident, The (Paperback)
"The Accident" was a very interesting story. It's about a group of friends going on a skiing trip, but also drinking and driving. I like the story because it sends a perfect message to everyone through out the world, children and adults. Why drink and drive? Can people wait until they arrive at the place and then drink?

5.0 out of 5 stars The Accident, April 28, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Accident, The (Paperback)
The Accident was a thrilling mystery and it dealt with drunk driving. It wasa dark, icy night when five drunk teenagers flew off a ravine;only one survived. Matt is the main character in the book who suspects that something was wrong that night. Chris was also a character who died that nihgt from drunk driving. everyone suspects that he was the one driving since he was known to be a "bad guy". All of the people in the town vanalize Chris's home. Meanwhile, Bobby Stewrt was Matt's best friend, and one of the five who died that night. The Stewerts are a rich family who are donating a pool tot he school. It appears as if they have something to cover up, so Matt is trying to figure out what's going on and who was driving that night. This book taught me never to drink, because if you do, you will have to face the consequences which are destructive and can lead to death. I recommend this book to people who are interested in mysteries and who want to find out who was driving.

4.0 out of 5 stars Tragedy Strikes, February 10, 2005
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Accident, The (Paperback)
The book I read is called the Accident. Todd Strasser wrote it. For the most part, I thought the book was very good. I like books that are suspenseful and this one kept me on the edge the whole time. It had topics in it that are common in teenager's lives right now. It is about some kids that are killed because of drunk driving. The main character's name is Matt. He and a few friends go to a party at his neighbor's house. The party has people smoking and drinking beer. Almost everyone is drunk. When the party is over, Matt's friends decide that they want to go up to a ski lodge. Matt decides that he does not want to go because he does not fell well. He finds out that this was a good decision because the next day all of his friends are dead except for one. They swerved off the road and into a ravine. An investigation takes place. Matt thinks that there is something fishy about the investigation. So he takes it into his own hands to find out what really happened. This was a great book. For people who like suspenseful books, I highly recommend it.

4.0 out of 5 stars This book shows consequences!, January 23, 2001
This review is from: Accident, The (Paperback)
This book shows the consequences of drunk driving. Matt and Bobby were best friends, but Matt feels kind of secluded since Jason came along. Then one night Bobby gets in a car with friends who were drinking. All but Jason are killed when their car slams into a ravine. Soon, Matt finds that everyone seems to be hiding something about the accident. He gets clues from a friend's brother who works for the police department. But Matt must find everything out on his own. What will he uncover?

This book is a page turner and very worth reading!

4.0 out of 5 stars A Great Book.. worth reading!, February 25, 2000

This review is from: Accident, The (Paperback)
This novel, The Accident, is a thrilling mystery that adds an element of intrigue to it. It makes you want to keep reading to find the clues they give you in the book. Four kids were at a party and they got in a accident. They had been drinking a lot, they were driving home and they got in a collision. This book is very well-written, dropping indications along the way to help solve the mystery. Todd Strasser has once again written another great novel.

4.0 out of 5 stars This is a book you will never forget!, October 24, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Accident, The (Paperback)
The Accident so far is taking place in a school and at Matt an Chris's house. Most of these settings are at the begging at the book. The charicters in this book are Chris who is a drugie, Matt who is a smart intelligent guy, Karen who is Matt's girlfriend, Jason and Bobby who are two of Matt's friends, Mrs.Walsh is Chris's mother, and Mrs Thompson who is Matt's mother. The plot of this book is that a whold bunch of kids are getting excited about going on a ski trip but soon they will be wishing it was all a dream! I think this book was a very good book, and I would encourage people to read it. Parts of this book would help kinds understand to not drink and drive, and they would discover the consiquences.

The stupid story is about a teenager whose four friends are killed in an accdient caused by drunk driving and there is mystery for the teenager to solve about waht realy happened. Every character in this book is STUPID or ARRIGANT the ending of the book suggests its OK to denie the truth for goo reputation. The main character teenager is stupid and stubern for not letting go and being obsessive. His girlfriend is stubern for not being supportive. The parents of one of the victims of the accident are very sleasy. THIS IS PROBALY THE WORST BOOK I HAVE EVER READ! I hope people are reading this review so that if they want to read a book that is totaly evil and ignorant. This book has stuff in it that wouldn't be appropriate at all in real life. This book is straight trash!
