5.0 out of 5 stars amusingly warm urban romantic fantasy

3.0 out of 5 stars A Cute, but Slightly Annoying, Read
This is the third book in the Accidental Friends series by Dakota Cassidy. It was just okay for me. I found that a lot of the writing got annoying. The spelling of "whatever" as "whatevah" and other slang items like that.

As for the plot, I thought it was cute. Part of the ending was predictable, while another part of it wasn't, so I enjoyed it. I found...

5.0 out of 5 stars amusingly warm urban romantic fantasy, March 7, 2009
This review is from: The Accidental Human (The Accidental Series, Book 3) (Mass Market Paperback)
Wanda Schwartz is still in disbelief from her best friends' conversion into the paranormal; Marty Andrews has become THE ACCIDENTAL WEREWOLF and Nina Blackman is now a vampire having become ACCIDENTALLY DEAD. Wanda just wants to remain boringly human.

However, Wanda is stunned when she learns she is terminally ill. She vows to live a normal human life to the fullest and hide her condition from her two best friends as long as possible. She meets Heath Jefferson, who wants to sell Bobbie-Sue Cosmetics. He is strange in a nice way but his manservant Archibald seems even odder; also in a nice way. Wanda thinks he is perfect for her final fling before she dies; Heath may be in full blooded lust, but has a different opinion.

The final "accidental" paranormal romance (see ACCIDENTALLY DEAD and THE ACCIDENTAL WEREWOLF) is a delightful, at times droll, contemporary tale starring a decidedly human heroine and Heath (read the book to learn who he is). Fans will laugh at her "F**k List" that needs some revision once Heath proves he knows his cosmic cosmetic colors. Dakota Cassidy provides a fitting twisted ending to this amusingly warm urban romantic fantasy.

I found Heath really cute--although I didn't understand why he and his "manservant" seemed so out of touch with today. He was a vampire living in today's world, so while even though most of his materials good came from magic, he was still in the present,so I feel that he would have known about the normal materialistic good of present day.

Overall, a quick cute-but slightly-annoying paranormal read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Accidentally Great!, December 9, 2009

This review is from: The Accidental Human (The Accidental Series, Book 3) (Mass Market Paperback)
The 3rd book in the Accidental series is very cute. Dakota Cassidy is a very funny writer and it shows in this story. Wanda is a great gal, she is a true friend and when she is diagnosed with a terminal illness she starts to look at her life it takes her meeting Heath to realize that she wants to live and love.

Her friends step in to help Wanda decide how to handle the illness and well let's just say that is when it all goes to hell in a handbasket. What would you do with friends like that? Great Read!

5.0 out of 5 stars By far the best of the 3, August 21, 2009
This review is from: The Accidental Human (The Accidental Series, Book 3) (Mass Market Paperback)
I thought this was by far the best of the 3 books. I laughed, I cried my eyes out and she wrapped up the series in a great warm fuzzy bow.

I felt the first 2 books had way too much whining for most of them. These girls are too strong to be written that whiny and not very bright. I had a very hard time getting through them.

::SPOILER ALERT:: Accidental Werewolf.. Marty is told she is a werewolf by page 5 and it is page 150 or so before she accepts it, even though 50 pages before that she, a VEGAN, devours a raw steak! As a vegetarian, that would have been the final brick falling on my head. She spends most of the book in denial and internal whining. I liked the story, which is why I stuck with them, but I was not too happy with how weak she made these characters seem when they were having internal dialog.

Dakota Cassidy redeemed herself in this one and Wanda, who faced imminent death, did so with strength and resolve, even during internal dialog. I am glad I stuck with them to the end.

This the last one in this trilogy and is the best of them all. It combines the elements of the two previous books and kept me hooked to the end.

1.0 out of 5 stars Boring, April 15, 2011
This review is from: The Accidental Human (The Accidental Series, Book 3) (Mass Market Paperback)
I Enjoy mystery stories most of the time but on occasion I like to read a light funny story. I picked this book because it said it was going to be funny, but I did not smile once during this book. The first 260 pages the main character is talking about how she is going to die in six months. If you are looking for a funny book or a paranormal romance this book is not for you. Try Mary Janice Davidson at least you will get a laugh out of her books.

5.0 out of 5 stars now it is wanda's turn, February 9, 2011

Now it is Wanda's turn to have a little supernatural romance! I really enjoy these books. They are a fun and light read. Many of the same elements appear as in the previous books. Marty and Nina are there for her and updates are given about how they are doing. I enjoy how the author keeps the other characters and doesn't necessarily drop them once their story is done. Their lives are constantly entertwined.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sexy, Humerous, and Wicked, February 6, 2011

The accidental series is fantastic. This book is well written, eerie, suspenseful, and will make you hurt from laughing so hard. Better if you read them in order, but it is not absolutely necessary because the books are independent of each other. Impatiently awaiting the new one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Ok so this book was a close 5 for me, January 22, 2011
This review is from: The Accidental Human (The Accidental Series, Book 3) (Mass Market Paperback)
What I Loved: Almost everything about this book. It made me laugh, cry, and want to tag along for the ride. Wanda grew so much during this book that it was hard not to love her! There is one scene between Wanda, Nina, and Marty that had me bawling like a baby. Dang you Dakota Cassidy!

What I Liked: I really liked all the funny moments, most of which were brought to us by the man servant extraordinaire. I also appreciated bringing all 3 couples together at the end so you could see how different they all really were!

What I though was So-So/Didn't Like: Not a darn thing!

Why I gave it 4: Ok so this book was a close 5 for me. The only reason I gave it a 4 instead is because I wanted a little more of the end scene with them all gathered together. I would say that is a spoiler but ummmm we are reading a romance LOL.

Who I would recommend it too: PNR readers who enjoy some snark :)

Other Books in the Series: The Accidental Werewolf, Accidentally Dead
