5.0 out of 5 stars Touching
I first bought this book thinking it would be an easy read on my lunch hour at work. I expected it to be like every movie I've seen where a single career woman suddenly finds herself mother to a those strange creatures called children. I was wrong. This book was both touching and humerous. I would be laughing on one page and crying two pages later. The best word I...

3.0 out of 5 stars Accidental Mother
Not the greatest book ever written--got it because my book club was reading it. I enjoyed the brit-speak, but there were a LOT of typos in the printing! The main character was bit scattered, except at work, and a little bit predictable. I like a little more depth to characters.

The best word I can think of is touching. Yes, the typical mistakes are made by a woman who has absolutely no idea how to realte to or treat a 6 and 3 year old. This book covers more than that. It covers the loss of a parent and how to explain that to a young child when not even the adult fully understands. The romance in the book is secondary. The best part is the changes made by Sophie, Bella, and Izzy, and how they learned to love and trust one another. Would I recommend this book? Absolutely! I already have.

Sophie Mills loves her life as a party planner, with her cat and her love of shoes. But one day her life in turned upside down the arrival her god-children. Both girls are trying to deal with the lost of their mother and a father that has taken off for unknown parts. So until he can be found, its Sophie in charge and the only advice she has been given is a dog training book by her mom!

"The Accidental Mother" was the first book by Rowen Coleman that I have read. While I ejoyed most of the book, I thought that the ending could have been stronger.
