Couldn't cut it!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Accidental Rewards (Paperback)
Accidental Rewards is a story that just didn't cut it for me. It started off okay enough, but halfway through the book I just couldn't cut it any more. (I lost interest) The plot was farfetched and boring, and the characters not well-developed, and flat. (Sorry, but this is just one mans's opinion). I will say in all fairness though that I believe in time Ms. Bryceland efforts will improve because she does display a decent dialouge between characters, and even some of the better-known writers (at times) continue to have trouble in that area. Maybe her next book. (I gave the book two stars instead of one because of her effort).

Accidental Review,

"Unrewarding" should have been the title and only an accident would cause me to buy another book by this author. Stale and overwrought is the only description I can give for other readers. Please save your time and money, don't bother.

Great to curl in bed with!,
By Huntress Reviews (United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Accidental Rewards (Paperback)
Annabelle Delancey was a single, white female who made a great pay check working in the Public Relations Department of a base. She had an abusive and snobbish boyfriend and the feeling of absolute aloneness. But she also had no idea of how to change her situation. Brianca Fuetes was a single, Hispanic female who worked at the front desk of a hotel. Her boyfriend, Alex, died two years ago, before they could marry. But Brianca still had Daniel, their (now) seven year old son, as well as, her sister Flo and Flo's entire family. Even with so little income and living in a bad neighborhood, she counted her blessings. All she lacked was the love of someone as wonderful as her Alex had been. Fate had both taking the same every other Friday flights to LA and Sunday flights back to Albuquerque. They noticed each other and often wondered what the other's life was like. When one of the flights had a long delay, they had a small lunch together and exchanged phone numbers. That would have been the end of it, but when Annabelle was attacked and left injured, she had no one to help. So she called Brianca who immediately came to her aide. The time Brianca and Annabelle spent together showed them how much they had in common. As their friendship strengthened, each had a major impact on the other's life. **** An amazing story of strength, family, friendships, and love! It had me grinning at some points and teary eyed at other! This is the perfect book to curl up in bed with on a cool, quiet evening! It left me with such a feeling of warmth and happiness!

Discontentment + Unlikely friendship = Fate,
By Lori Zecca, author (St. Louis, MO United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Accidental Rewards (Paperback)
Accidental Rewards is the best read I have had in a long time! Conny Bryceland has the unique ability to draw her readers in and make them an integral part of her story. The characters are well-developed and could conceivably be as endeared as life long friends. Bianca, a single ethnic mother struggling to survive both emotionally and financially, and Annabelle, a high-powered career woman who seemingly has it all, but is also struggling, are brought together under the most unlikely of circumstance. This unconventional relationship eventually breaks the social barriers that separate them, as the two women's lives become amazingly intertwined. Jam-packed with laughter, love, and compassion, you'll finish this novel all too quickly and be left wishing for more.

An Apt and Optimistic Title Befitting Friendship,
By F. E. Mazur (Lexington, KY United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Accidental Rewards (Paperback)
Bianca Fuentes and Annabelle Delancey are not leading parallel lives, but they are boarding identical flights on identical days; and as each enjoys dabbling in people-watching and imagines what the other's hours are made of, it soon becomes clear that the two will meet and become...what? Well, friends, of course. There is no real sense of conflict with either of these women to suggest other possibilities. Problems they have, certainly, but the author translates none of these into real conflict. And for this reader, a male, it made me take less of an interest in these women than I would have preferred. I wanted some depth with moments of internal agonizing. For Annabelle, the task, I believe, would have been especially difficult to accomplish, if only because, for much of the story, she must deal with an anal-retentive boyfriend named Del, who was too often a reminder of another anal-retentive character married to Thelma in the film Thelma and Louise. Thus, Thelma was often popping up when I was reading about Annabelle, and the one is more captivating than the other. Still, the theme of this story is one of establishing friendships among disparate human beings, and my objections, more personal than critical, in no way hinder its development. This is a quiet read and should be appreciated as such.

A quick read and an engrossing story of two totally different women who are not so different after all! Shows what things we all have in common, regardless of money or status. I enjoyed it!

Vivid, "real" characters and a thought-provoking storyline,
By A Texas reader (Amarillo, Texas United States) - See all my reviews

This story had me thinking about the value of friendship. Conny Bryceland has a talent for creating characters you will feel you know almost immediately. An interesting and heart-warming look at two women whose hearts are much alike, despite the differences in their lives.
