An excellent story from an excellent author!, December 31, 2009
This review is from: Accidental Slave (Paperback)
In the corporate world, Elizabeth Martin was a woman to be feared. Poised, always in control, she was dedicated to job, and worked hard to make herself the best in her business. But when one man decides to take her down, will she be able to survive his attacks?
When it came to achieving her goals, Elizabeth Martin knew what she wanted. Her goals were simple: to go all the way to the top. When she was hired as the new executive vice president for a prestigious advertising firm, she felt she was well on her way. However, she never counted on a disgruntled rival taking a very creative revenge-drugging her, and selling her in a slave auction in a BDSM club. Will her career be ruined by the sabatogue?
Cole Pearson had very few requirements in his life, but recently he had felt something was missing. When he went to the slave auction at The House of Usher, he never imagined he would find the woman who would complete him, or that she would be completely oblivious to everything around her. Compelled to try to help her, Cole decided he would do whatever it took to save her. Would she be willing to stay in his life after she realized what happened?
With a villain that gives new meaning to the words slimy and nefarious, a very good cast of secondary characters, and a very entertaining writing style, ACCIDENTAL SLAVE was a great read. Ms. Thompson does an excellent job, producing a story that appeals even to those not involved in the BDSM scene. Cole was an amazing character, dominant without being overbearing, and very caring towards Elizabeth. As a heroine, Elizabeth was also an excellent character, and I really liked the dichotomy in her personality. The love scenes were amazing, so spicy that they almost curl the toes. Fantastic job!

Completely Disappointed, May 17, 2010
This was an incredibly disappointing book. After an initial setting of the scene between the original characters it became more and more about the love story of the principal female and a secondary male character. Much of what went on was TOTALLY immaterial to the story and was essentially filler.
While the book did delve into some of the kink that the story is supposed to be about, the descriptions are rudimentary and unfulfilling.
I read this on my Kindle and fully 70% of the book was taken up by nothing having to do with the character's assumption of the role of "slave" (yes, I checked as I was reading). Additionally, throughout the book the character was referred to as "sub" or "submissive". There is a distinct difference between sub/submissive and slave in the world of D/s.
I suppose for some, what little story there is about D/s is probably exciting, as there are some fairly accurate descriptions of what goes on in these relationships, but I feel that the title is misleading and inaccurate.
Frankly, I've read romance novels that provided better writing about dominant men and submissive women. I'm not sure the author really did the research for this one.

Best erotica I have ever read!, March 2, 2010
This review is from: Accidental Slave (Paperback)
Fantatic story telling! Wonderful sex scences! Nothing about them was offensive or over done. Best part was... there was NOT chapters and chapters of talking about feelings. Cole is a perfect DOM who was in controle but never went to a dark and scary place. I never felt that Elizabeth was being treated like a whore. And there was no over the top LOVE talk. It was perfect!
