More About the Author

I was born and raised in England, where I still live. I began my writing career doing features for magazines, sometimes interviewing famous people like Michael Caine, Warren Beatty, Charlton Heston, and sometimes gaining wonderful new experiences like camping out with lions in Africa.
With a love of travel, I went to Venice, where I met a Venetian man. In that magical city we fell in love and got engaged in two days. Years later we are still together. What else could I be but a writer of romances?
I've written over ninety books for Harlequin. Along the way I've been lucky enough to pick up a few awards. I've won the Romance Writers of America's RITA award twice, with SONG OF THE LORELEI (1991) and HIS BROTHE'S CHILD (1998), and finalled with A PEARL BEYOND PRICE (1989), FOR THE LOVE OF EMMA (1997) and GINO'S ARRANGED BRIDE (2005) ,
Many of my books are set in Italy, especially Venice. But I still travel a lot, and some of my recent productions have been set against new horizons such as Greece and China. Next stop, Russia. And after that - who knows? There are so many places to explore.
As well as modern stories I've enjoyed writing historicals under the name Penelope Stratton.

This book is the story of Dante and Fern, and the book is EXCELLENT! It is well-written, funny, fast-paced and, in several places, heart-breathtakingly tender. It has plenty of heat without being explicit or raunchy. Dante comes off as a bit nonsensical at first, but once you find out more about him, the reasons for his actions all fall into place. Fern is strong and knows her mind, rather than the usual "damsel in distress." I also love the fact that the obstacle that potentially ends their romance is not just bad communication or a silly misunderstanding, but a realistic and serious issue. I stumbled across this book quite by accident but feel like I found a buried treasure!

Hmmm... so this book literally has no pregnancy basis at all. She finds out she is pregnant at the VERY end of the book and there are no issues that the hero has. The synopsis for the book is WAY off!! It makes it sound like she gets pregnant and the whole book is about how he is excited to become a daddy. It is not like that at all! I will say that his wit is fun to read and they had great chemistry together. I do not like he bouts of crazy when he feels his death could be approaching! I am sad that they had to go through all that they did and I would have felt bad about his risk in surgery if this was not a Harlequin where the HEA is pretty much guaranteed. I did like this book because of their banter and his family but the synopsis was so far off that it is describing another book completely!!!
